Andy Dick Arrested

^ Exactly. The bouncer's size, job, political leanings or anything else are entirely beside the point. Sexual assault is a crime. It's wrong. It ought to be prosecuted.

Apart from when the victim is David Beckham - at least according to the "hilarious" stories in the newspapers last week.

I hadn't heard about this, but just did some Googling. Am depressingly unsurprised to find the usual suspects in the gutter press find it a good opportunity for snickering and bad puns.

Or the kind that just hates Andy Dick and/or was angered by his general behavior (which is sort of hinted at by the whole groping bit).

If the bouncer was a cop instead, would the response be okay? What if it was the president of the United States? Are bouncers the only ones you think its okay to grope with only a minor repercussion? If so, why?
Ever been to a crowded club or bar were everyone is very drunk?

Groping happens more than you think & bouncers are very much aware of it. Sometimes they allow it, other times they don't. If Andy Dick had been a woman with a big rack that groped this bouncer, this story would have never made the news because no arrest would have ever happened. If in happened in major city like say NYC, it would be seen as common place.

When you take on the job of a bouncer, you expect to get physically assaulted.

Exactly!

You also expect to get groped and get BJ's in the back alley or club restroom.

I used to bounce plenty, never got those fringe benefits. Got others though.

$60k seems a bit steep for grabbing some balls.

You want to have some fun, ask Jon Lovitz what *he* thinks of Andy. It won't be pretty.

Put it this way, if Dick had approached *you* at a comedy club and said "I put the Phil Hartman hex on you; you're the next one to die", how would you feel?

This.

Also, according to Lovitz, Dick gave Brynn Hartman (Phil's wife) the cocaine that made her relapse and kill Phil. Linky

While I'm not defending Dick, the NY POST is infamous for being a rag newspaper that isn't always truthful.
They did a two page article the day after Brittney Murphy's death claiming she was hooked on all types of drugs. Mean while as far as I know, the toxicology reports have found no drugs in her system.

The NY POST is trash.

I'll admit I thought he was quite funny 10 years or so ago. The Voyager episode is a good example.

It's a shame what he's become since then.

I hear he has a bad drug habit.

As has been pointed out, the New York Post is not the most reliable source but were they the original source of this information ?

This is not the first time I've heard Andy Dick's name in connection with Phil Hartman's death.

There's a such thing as "desired" groping. A bouncer isn't going to complain about a big-racked woman groping him because, hey, he liked it. Some weaselly pecker-head of a male comedian? Not so desired, so it causes a problem.

And just because more of this stuff happens than we think doesn't mean we should be OK with it. More kids get diddled by Uncle Ricky than we think, we shouldn't shrug that off too.

Andy's advancment was undesired and uncalled for, so, yeah, he's going to pay for it. And just going by his persona, I doubt it was a "friendly" little grope/touching. He was probably a big douche about it.

I wasn't implying we should. However based on some replies here, some folks seem to be of the mind set that this stuff never happens and that it's always unwelcomed.

Still, another question is: did he grope these folks as part of a comedy act he was doing or did he just out right grope them for kicks? Anyone that scene Andy Dick's comedy act, knows he likes to push the envelope.

Perhaps you should learn to read the post you're fuming about in depth, then. Particularly the very first sentence. With emphasis on the first part of the very first sentence.

They quoted Lovitz himself. Assuming he reads the paper, you'd think that if they made that quote up, he would have said something about it, yes?

Perhaps you shouldn't assume everything is in reference to you.
