While investigating a case in an office building where a man's blood literally burst from his arteries and veins, Peter and Olivia are trapped in a CDC quarantine when it's discovered that the blood carries a deadly pathogen.

Average. Honestly ... what is this series waiting for? I could tolerate a "mystery/monster" of the week if the stories were actually about something. But these last few ... yeesh. They're not terrible, but they really don't have anything special to offer audiences.

Not the show's best but Astrid finding out a part of the Peter story is interesting and will no doubt play into the second half of the season.

Above average--the best standalone this season. The plot wasn't anything new but the episode succeeded in pulling it off to where it didn't feel tired. It also infused in it a surprising amount of jeopardy even though we know Peter and Olivia were in no danger of succumbing to the disease.

You know what would make these standalone episodes worthwhile? If fake Charlie was still around, collecting information for what are basically weapons that the other side can use on this side.

Ya know what I'm liking a lot? Astrid is 100% part of the ensemble. She had the potential of being relegated to a lab-bound background character in the beginning, but somebody wised up and brought her fully into the group.

^ And I don't care for the Astrid character at all. I wouldn't miss her one second if she was taken off the show.

I enjoyed this immensely! I liked the Olivia/Peter exchanges and the Walter/Astrid ones. That's really what this show does best-character moments with weird stuff going on :techman:

I liked best:

Peter: I'm sorry
Olivia:It's ok, you weren't yourself
Peter: It's a good thing you were

:techman:

Me, too! I love Astrid. I really like the tender friendship between her and Walter. I'm assuming it won't take her long to figure out the truth about Peter dying "again."

However, I have to say that the last few plots have been fairly mediocre. I hope they get back to the main story arc(s) soon.

Best standalone yet this season. Walter was wonderful, his drive to save Peter was perfect, and the fact that now Astrid (who had plenty of nice moments) will now have a chance to figure out his secret is hopeful. I'm feeling generous, so I'm giving it an excellent.
Maybe I just had a good day.

Best moment? Walter shaking too much to do the test on Peter. Astrid takes his hand to steady it, then takes the test to finish it for him.

As I'm catching up on this season, I totally have to agree with you there. It was a great moment. I like that they are bring her into the fold as they could easily have her be merely the gopher and the butt of the joke of Walter's inability to remember her name. I enjoy Astrid and would love to see more of her.
