Star Trek Online and Countdown Graphic Novel Continuities

I'm not even sure he's been consistent on the novel covers either.

Each cover artist has referenced the same original photos, AFAIK, taken by Keith Birdsong of his unnamed neighbour. Variations are artistic interpretations of those pics.

Peter David once said he considered the WildStorm comic, "Double Time" to be the definitive likeness versions of his NF characters.

And since I'm not familiar with the context or the workings of this game, it's a fair question to ask, how is it known that this character is Calhoun? Is that actually stated in the game?
Yes, the name is shown both above his head (when you move your cursor over him) and in the "Talk to MacKanzie Calhoun"-button that automatically appears when you approach him.
Unfortunately I couldn't take a screenshot of either ot them because the screen capturing is set up so that everything that counts as part of the User Interface is removed from the picture by default.

Also, Cmdr. Naomi Wildman sends you to speak to him specifically.

That's definitely supposed to be him.

As for his longevity, I was hoping some readers of the New Frontier books could answer that.

So far, I haven't seen any other characters from the books, but then we've been restricted to Federation space and the neutral zone since the beginning of Open Beta.
I'm gonna check out DS9 once I can go there.
But there is something else from the books, that seems to exist in the game. The Great Bloom is marked on the galaxy map.

Okay, now I'm interested to know what Naomi Wildman looks like in the game. She'd be 37 in 2409, but of course her aging pattern is clearly not humanlike. And I wonder, is she closer in appearance to Vanessa Branch, who played the adult Naomi in "Shattered," or to the present-day Scarlett Pomers?

^Excuse me, but by changing the links, you've made it so that they only show the reduced-size thumbnails. And the site in question is an image-hosting site, and I'd assume it's Ayelbourne's personal page, since these are screencaps of his own gameplay. I thought links to one's personal image-hosting page were allowed here. I've certainly seen them in use in Trek Art.

Yes, it is an image hosting site (the name of the site even translates to upload-pictures.net in English).

^I would do the same, and plan on doing so. The FC uniform was my absolute favorite. I really disliked the one worn by Data and his crew in Countdown. [/fingerscrossed/]different universe[/fingerscrossed/]

I just met Admiral Akaar in STO.

Ok, technically he is a canon character, not treklit only. But the fact that he's a Starfleet Admiral was established in the books.

It was a nice little mission. I had to visit this tribal civilization deep in Romulan space in order to help negotiate topaline trade agreements and establish friendly relations with them.

The Klingons (namely Ja'rod, Son of Lursa) tried that too. So the tribes chief made us compete over trading rights by destroying an asteroid that was about to hit the planet.

Yeah, STO does have a helluvalot of both series and literature injokes, there is one very crazy mission that involves, Miral Paris, TOS Klingons, timetravel, The U.S.S. Enterprise (with Nimoy!), The Guardian of Forever, the Kuva'Magh, The Augment-virus and so on...

I was like... :wtf::eek::guffaw::drool: all at the same time.

And the mission is called "The Guardian on the Edge of Never"!

Lots of cool stuff in that game and it plays better than I thought - that's why I uninstalled it before it sucks down hundreds of productive hours... :-)
