In this particular forum there are several topics related to the crew of the Enterprise in Star Trek 2009. Now I've got a question for you all, if the producers decided to introduce the character of Nurse Christine Chapel in the next film who do you think might get the part?(If you were the producer who would you pick?)

I wouldn't mind seeing Chapel in the next movie. We heard McCoy call her name in the movie, yet we never saw who she was or what she looked liked. So I'm curious as to who will play her if they decide to have her in the next movie.

Seriously, it probably wouldn't be more than a walk on part. It would be hard to find a "name" actor who would do it so it would be an up-and comer, or it would be someone with "crossover" appeal.

Or not. Frankly, does it matter? She'd just end up being a bit, supporting character anyways. In classic TOS Chapel headlined just one or two episodes at most to begin with and that was with Gene pushing for her as the show's creator, frequent writer and executive producer.

Chapel was addressed by McCoy in XI. Maybe that's all we need.

Actually I don't care about who gets cast, as long as it's not Megan Fox, who looks good, but couldn't act to save her sorry little arse. She nearly ruined Transformers for me (but that had Shia and Hugo's voice, so there you go).

Remember in TOS she had a thing for Spock although Spock wasn't able to respond to her advances. McCoy would probably cringe if she was a Vulcan? Some how though I would think she would be an experienced officer and not a cadet. I would think someone like Ashley Judd would do quite well in that role. Of course it's not just selecting someone to play the part but there acceptance to play the part as well.

For Chapel, here's a suggestion I haven't seen before: Maggie Siff.

Or if we're hewing more to the original type: Anna Gunn.

Tricia Helfer. She's tall, has enough screen presence to hold her own against an irascible McCoy, and yet can do serene, only making herself felt whe she needs to.
