Star Wrek The Pirkinning or something like that

Has anyone else on here seen it? I got it on Netflix. When the show started I turned it off during all the fastfood on Earth bit since I was with my girlfriend. I figured I'd trudge through it later, sort of like a chore. The show got better after they built the space fleet and then attacked Babylon 5. I had no idea that it wasn't in English when I ordered it.

This film is hilarious.

The film is just awesome!:bolian:

It's the best Trek and B5 parody ever made!

I could never get past the title. WTF is a "pirkinning"?!?
It comes from the name of the main charcter James B. Pirk (;)) and the Babylon 5 TV film "In The Beginning"!

Did you buy it? It's supposed to be downloadable for free?

Absolutely outstanding film, I can't wait to see their next project 'Iron Sky'

I love it. I have the original version and I just saw the newer copyright friendly version in Best Buy this weekend. It's $15.

When I got mine from Finland I also ordered the soundtrack. It's great.

I would suggest downloading the subtitle worksheet. It also gives some background information that enhances the movie.

I remember laughing hard at the Sheridan-like character launching into long, pretentious speeches at every opportunity . The effects were pretty good for what's basically a fan film, too, but over all the story and acting weren't really tight enough to fully hold my interest.

If it appeals to your warped sense of humor then it will appeal to mine as well - I'll give it a try! :D

I tried to watch it a few years ago, but I got bored pretty fast. I had no idea it was partially a Babylon 5 parody...maybe the fact that I've never seen Babylon 5 was part of why I didn't get it. It was also weird seeing a foreign movie that was one of those parody comedies...most of the foreign movies I've seen have been dramas or at least really professional comedies, unlike this, which had a very low-fi 'fan film' quality to it. I do remember being amused by the running gag of the Captain having toilet paper stuck to his foot all the time. :)

Oh yeah, I think you will.

Here's the link for the annotated translations that show the ego of Pirk. http://starwreck.com/annotated_translation.pdf

Don't forget to check out the making of link at http://www.starwreck.com/. It's amazing they did this mostly one character at a time in a small area in his apartment.

Ooooh! I've always thought that was pronounced with the stress on the first syllable. How does one pirkin, anyway? :rommie:

Here's some cool concept art from Energia Productions, the guys behind 'Star Wreck' and 'Iron Sky.'

If you like Nazis with flying saucers and a Moonbase (Iron Sky) and an odd mix of 20th century real and fictional Soviet air and ground vehicles with 24th century Soviet/vaguely-Steampunk-inspired versions of Federation starships (Star Wreck), this is the concept art for you.

Didn't they make them change the ship designs for video releases? Without actually using Trek and B5 ships, it loses something.

Twinklers and light balls...hee-hee.
