Drew McWeeny at Hitfix is saying it's highly likely that, as previously rumored, Jackie Earle Haley will play Sinestro. Evidently the character will have a relatively small part in the first film with an eye to becoming a central villain in a prospective sequel.

Haley is an adequate choice, but he's certainly not my first, second, or even third pick for Sinestro.
