NF: Treason question (possible spoiler)

Wes-Cutting

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
I am not sure if this would be a spoiler seeing as how is really has nothing to do with the main plot, just references made as small tie-ins.

I was wondering about some of the references made in the book, I seemed to have either missed something or it just hasn't been explain/explored. The are two points in the book that I think relating to the same thing. The first is talking about how Jellico might have stole a prototype time vessel and then another where the advance race is speculated to have upgraded the Paradox. Any help on the matter would be appreciated.

Have you finished the book? There is some other stuff from Turnaround that comes into play throughout the book.

Yes I have finished it but I may not have noticed the other ones. Those two were just the ones that caught my attention and I was curious. What were the other stuff that point to Turnaround?

The mini-series, "Turnaround", features the apparent demise of the now-holographic Morgan Primus, but in "Treason" we discover she was able to reboot herself - but now Calhoun is realising just how dangerous and more powerful she may become.

^See I just thought that was going back to what happened in the Fluidic Space thing in the Missing in Action

Just finished Treason and I enjoyed it. PAD definitely produced another winner. After reading some of these comments, I think I need to read Turnaround again. In reference to Mick Gold's sister Leanne and a Borg altercation, would anyone know if that is a reference to the Destiny trilogy or something else?

Something else. I'm pretty sure Treason takes place before Destiny.

^Agreed.

Jellico is still in Starfleet in Treason, whereas I think he retired Post-Destiny.

Any clue how old Jellico is? He can't be more than 75 or 80.

It will be interesting to see if any references are made to Destiny when NF comes back. I know it's more or less in the same universe as the other series, but NF never really references events from the other series.

Since Calhoun and the Excalibur are mentioned in the Destiny books, I'm hoping that PAD acknowledges it. It's always possible he won't as New Frontier is actually just slightly behind TNG/VOY/TITAN as far as the timeline goes. I think Treason happens in 2380. I have no idea when the next NF book will take place. We'll see in January 2011...

Pretty young to retire at 70 in the Star Trek Universe, but then again, the stress was always supposedly aging him before his time.

I think his reason for retirement was not because of age, but because the greatest loss of life in Federation history happened while he was the C-in-C of Starfleet.
