Law & Order: UK Series 2

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
So series 2 (or the rest of series 1) of Law & Order: UK kicked off on Monday night, took them long enough. Anybody else still watching?

Samaritan
New episode of the crime drama based on the hit US series. A tragic communication error between police officers leads to the death of gay PC Nick Bentley when he is caught in the crossfire of armed drug-dealers. DC Ronnie Brooks and DC Matt Devlin investigate, but one of the dealers claims that a second police officer, Ray Griffin, was standing nearby doing nothing while Bentley bled to death. When Griffin is linked to an extreme religious group which discriminates against homosexuals, it appears the tragic error might not have been a mistake after all. With Bradley Walsh, Jamie Bamber, Harriet Walter, Ben Daniels, and Freema

ITV Player link for anyone (Brits) who want to watch it.

I enjoyed it.
I wonder if this happened in real life would the cops stand by there man. I mean would you want to go out on the beat with someone who you could not trust to watch your back.

Yeah, I had to wonder about that, too. If they'd let a fellow cop die because they didn't "morally" agree with him because of his sexuality maybe they'd do the same to you if you were a gambler, or a cheater etc.
I'm glad they don't always just let the "bad guy" go down and prove justice right in a simplistic way.

Because the show is also about the court side of things as well as watching the police hunt I think the show would not last very long if they won every case.

Does any American TV network show L&O:UK?
Not that I know of, but apparently Dick Wolf is hoping NBC will pick it up to run on Saturday nights once there's enough episodes. Only 13 so far, with another 13 ordered.

That would be great--I'd love to see it! Aren't Jamie Bamber and Freema Agyeman in the cast?

Yep they're both in it. Jamie is one of the cops and Freema is a CPS Lawyer.

There's plenty of clips and episodes on youtube.

So how is it that we here in Canada have already seen "the rest of series 1" (on City-TV)? What took so long for them to resume the series in the, ah, UK?

Well, ITV are calling it Series 2, so I assume either this was their plan all along, to produce 13 episodes and use them as 2 series, so the other 13 they've ordered will be series 3 and 4...
Or they couldn't find room in their schedule to air it in the same year so decided to pretend this is the second series and the 13 more they've ordered will be series 3.

Originally it seemed they were going to show the rest as part of the Autumn season, but then it just didn't appear in the schedules.
