Which Star Trek actor went on a date and forgot to take their Vulcan..

ears off? I don't know if anyone caught this on Entertainment Tonight, but they had a question related to Star Trek and it was about three possible Trek actors that had gone on a date and forgot to take their Vulcan ears off. The three choices were: Kristi Alley, Leonard Nimoy, and Zachery Quinto. My answer was Leonard Nimoy, because at the time of the show the girl they showed I couldn't tell it was Kristi Alley. But the answer was, Kristi Alley... I guess I can see that, but I thought it might of been Nimoy since he seemed to be so involved in Star Trek :)

Kirstie Alley often mentioned in interviews about ST II that she accidentally went home in her ears one night.

And it was Kim Catrall (Valeris) who took a photographer onto the ST VI bridge set, posed nude in her ears in the captain's chair, and was sprung by producer Nimoy - who removed the film from the camera.

Nimoy wasn't the director on VI, Meyer was. However Nimoy produced and helped write it.

Seriously?

I have never, ever heard that story before.

I imagine Nimoy was kind of pissed.

Given that he subsequently published a book of nude photographs, he was probably more pissed that she didn't hire him to shoot the pictures.

I heard it told by ST VI production staff at several conventions. She was a cheeky one that Valeris. (As proven by her early role in "Porky's" and her later role in "Sex in the City".)

He did, didn't he?

I keep meaning to check that out.

I hear that her "cheeks" were rather nice.

Re: Which Star Trek actor went on a date and forgot to take their Vulc

Actually, there's an older story about Leonard Nimoy's secretary during the old TOS days... she wanted to show her appreciation to him for hiring her, so she found an old set of Vulcan ears, put them on, and wore them around the office all day. They pinched and hurt like hell, and she was frustrated to tears because he never even noticed. Finally, she just pulled her hair back, and said, "Look!"

So he looked, started to laugh, and then realized that she had done it as a way of saying thank you...

But that night she was going to a party, and the ears went with her, because she couldn't get them off!

*If I remember rightly, this story was in The Making of Star Trek.

I heard Shatner used to steal the toupees the make up department had made for him. Hmmm, I wonder how much one of those would go for on e-bay?

That's why the subject of that “forgotten ears” story couldn't have been Nimoy. According to TMOST, even though the foam-latex ears were custom-molded from a cast of Leonard's own ears, he still found them slightly painful to wear. They shifted a bit when he talked or moved his face, and the constant rubbing occasionally caused a raw spot where the ears were glued to the sides of his head. He was ALWAYS aware that he had them on, and was relieved when he could remove them after a day's shooting.

Improvements in prosthetic makeup may have made the ears more comfortable for actors playing Vulcan/Romulan characters after TOS, but it's hard to believe anyone would simply forget they were wearing them. If I had those things stuck to my head, believe me, I'd know it!

Those were toupees? The way he looked in T.J. Hooker, I thought he was wearing a tribble on his head.
