After the Blackest Night comes the Brightest Day!

DC The Source Blog kicked off another big announcement week with David Finch being announced as the artist on the upcoming "Brightest Day" event following Blackest Night's conclusion in April. It would seem the long rumored fan theory that a White Lantern Corps will be creation is true based on the teaser splash! The Source has the announcement along with the tiein books. If a White Lantern Corps is created then I want a hoodie and a t-shirt just like with the Black Lanterns.

How many things is Geoff Johns going to write?!

Also - I don't understand - is this a new separate year-long mini-series (what's mini about a year-long series) or will it be basically a subtitling of the GL and GLC monthly issues.

I hope they continue the coold run that they have on GL.

Both, Brightest Day the comic is a 26 issue, bi-weekly maxi-series written by Geoff Johns and Pete Tomassi. However, several titles, such as Green Lantern, Green Lantern Corps, Titans, Justice League, and Flash will carry a "Brightest Day" heading.

How many Corps are they gonna make?

Well, this'll be the ninth, and they'll have run out of colors! :p

seriously though, a *white* corps? What emotion is left for that to represent, that hasn't already been covered?

Quiet a few actually...

I am curious to know what they are going to do with the Blackest Night as they kind of lost me at the last one with the 24 hour, membership pulling out of their ass thing.

But I've read over some former Green Lanterns (which has heavily hinted at something like this for years) and I believe that is what is so great about the Green Lanterns is...well the whole alien thing.

Not! Remotely! Interested!

This thing has went from kinda cool to really silly very quickly, IMO. It was one thing as an event within the Green Lantern books, but as yet another big DCU event?

Pass...

If the Black Corps is death I imagine the White Corps will be life. So in addition to GL and GLC there's going to be a biweekly year long series?! Something else I'll have to buy in trade now!

Oh, I see a pattern emerging. I predict that the next BIG! EVENTS! will be called:

- "No Evil"
- "Escape My Sight"
- "Evil's Might Worshippers"
- "Beware my Power"
- "Green Lantern's Light"

Thanks!

I think that means that some of our lanterns are going to move to the Brightest Day. I've slowly been catching up with the Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps graphic novels and I'm all caught up except for Agent Orange. Stuff after that will all be The Blackest Night stuff. And based on the coverage levels, I *think* that they are going to move Kyle and John Stewart into the White Lanterns. Both of them have gotten very limited coverage. GLC is almost all Guy with Kyle making guest appearances. And the few scenes of John Stewart that I've seen are him moping about whatever remains of whatever-planet-he-let-blow-up.

That's my guess.

I don't really want to be spoiled but I hope Qull of the Five Inversions is still a player (whether alive or in zombie form). I think Atrocitus is an atrocity.

Maybe some kind of equilibrium will result with Green always vs Yellow and White always vs Black...

Just some idle speculation without having followed up on Blackest Night.

And since we are talking about that - In one collection, Mother Mercy is chewing up Mongul as lunch/dinner and in the next Mongul with an arm as sidekick is taking over Daxam. Have they ever explained what happened with those Black Mercy plants and how Mongul got away?

I'm pretty sure a line in Mongul's return appearance explains how he got away. I forget what it was though!

how about the rainbow corp... where everbody doesn't need their gaydar cuz they already know..
