Spider Man Reboot - Your Cast & Plot?

How would you cast a Spider Man reboot? What would your storyline be? Who would you choose as a villain? How would you handle/include Spidey's orig?

I don't know about cast or the plot really...but my villain would be Mysterio. I liked the first movie but it went downhill from there.

Logan Lerman should play Peter Parker/Spider-Man. He's 17, so perfect age for Sony's "high school" Spidey. Portia Doubleday (Youth in Revolt) would make a great Mary Jane Watson or Gwen Stacy.

all i want is for the wise-cracks to be used. Maybe get Bendis to write it.

Sony already have a planned script for the scheduled reboot. It's by the writer of "Zodiac."

EW describes it as "gritty" :scream: "contemporary" and dealing with "modern" teenage problems.

NO ORIGIN STORY.

Surely everyone, by now, knows how Spider-Man got his powers. Just do what The Incredible Hulk did and put it in the title sequence.

Would be interesting if David Fincher was also attached, although totally would not be his typical movie, but would be interesting, I dunno I still say Lizard should get first crack as the villain, if it's going to be retconned he can be the wacky high school science teacher with a very reptillian alter ego

Apparently Marc Webber (director of (500) Days of Summer) and Gary Ross (Pleasantville, Seabiscuit) are in the running for director. Ross also did a pass at the Spider-Man 4 script while Raimi was attached.

I'd want to see the Green Goblin story done right. Right down to Gwen getting killed on the bridge. They did a version of this with Mary Jane (Who, of course, survived) in the first movie, so I doubt it would ever happen...

Those Spiderman films were awful. I love sci fi/fantasty and I even love bad movies but they were deplorable. Maguire is hard to look at for 2 hours straight.

Reboot it straight up. Hey, isn't there supposed to be a period of time before reboots, several years?

Spider-Man Begins -- Curt Connors mentors Peter and then turns out to be the bad guy in the end. And Gwen Stacy tells Peter, "It's not who you are underneath, it's what you do that defines you."

The Dark Web --- Green Goblin brings chaos to Spider-Man's world, kills Gwen Stacy and turns Quentin Beck into a villain.

:)

As long as Sony makes a Spider-Man movie, any Spider-Man movie, they retain the rights. Marvel made a bunch of really stupid movie licensing deals in the 90s. Sony can't really wait for a reboot. And honestly, five years between Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man Reboot is a pretty good chunk of time.

I do agree with the poster above that there is absolutely zero reason to do an origin story. Assume that the audience knows that Peter Parker has powers, even vaguely they know where the powers come from. If it were up to me, and I had to give Sony a high school script, I'd look pretty heavily at the Mary Jane and Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane comics.

^I would say Spider-Man has the best know set of superhuman abilities of any comic book character other than Superman.

I would say that Batman is up there, though his abilities are really simple.

As for villains, I think Hammerhead might be cool, especially since they can't do the Kingpin.

Batman has no superhuman abilities, though I'd agree that the fact that he has none is as well known as the fact that Spider-Man can climb walls or that Superman can fly.

Spider-Man Origins: Amazing Spider-Man the Beginning - We see Parker's parents die, and Peter exhibit his powers for the first time. YES, HE'S HAD THEM SINCE PREPUBERTY. Then we see a montage of his formative years. His half-brother, Eddie Brock, who also has Spider powers, eventually turns on him by siding with their manipulative high school science teacher, Curt Conners, who wants to create a team of teenage super criminals, the Sinister Six. During a confrontation with the villains, Uncle Ben (Parker's great uncle, not Eddie's) dies and Parker blames Eddie, even though it wasn't Eddie who killed Ben per se.

Movie ends with Brock still at large and Dr. Connors losing his arm, post credits teaser reveals he is alive and is staring at a small lizard in a lab somewhere.

Alternate teaser shows Parker looking at want ads, "Daily Bugle seeks photos of the Spider-Man, willing to pay $$$"
