Killing Time on the Net

So when you're looking to waste some time on the internet, what do you do? I'm on dial up so I can't watch videos unfortunately or else I'd probably be watching You Tube or online episodes of Colbert Report...

What I usually do is read about stuff on wikipedia, usually comic books or history. I also cruise Amazon looking for something I'd want to buy.

I play games on Pogo, I read various Disney update sites and the Yesterland site, or answer questions on Yahoo Answers.

So when you're looking to waste some time on the internet, what do you do?
I'm constantly looking stuff up, on a variety of subjects. What I always used to reach for reference books to find, more and more I'm finding online. I think it's fun, and I don't really consider it time wasted if I'm learning new things.

I watch random crap on BBC iPlayer, or listen to random crap on BBC iPlayer while playing Tetris. I used to look up random crap on Wikipedia and learn things, but I spent 2-3 years doing that and I've been through all of the articles that interest me, as far as I know.

I tend to hit my own hosted sites first (from my own to a forum I host for a friend) then usually Facebook. I have a lot of people there who amuse me, and then theres Mafia Wars.

Twitter is there too, though I'm not on there as frequently as I used to be as I tend to be quite busy - and it's an easy distraction.

World of Warcraft is practically like a web browser for me. I always have it running in the background even if I'm not actively "playing." I talk to guildmates or farm my profs when I'm not doing something else. It's like interactive TV almost.

Here, Facebook (and those addictive games!), youtube, imdb.com and wikipedia. I google often for work related research (currently for lesson plans for "Inherit the Wind") and any questions my students have that's outside of my knowledge base (of English Literature and Canadian History).

I don't really have time to kill these days. Most of my time online is either checking my Forums or checking my store, gallery or YouTube page. I also do research for my various projects. That's about it. I haven't even played KOL in ages.

Recently I've been searching for and downloading free VST plugins that I'll probably never use. When I'm not busy lurking here, that is.

:D
