Of the original cast, who was the biggest Trekkie?

It doesn't open. I recall one of the actors saying he or she was a huge fan. It is in a sector 31 file on the bonus disk of the first season, I think.

It's Armin Shimerman talking about what a big fan of Trek he was, how he did all he could to get the role of Quark, and that he's friends with a few of the TOS cast.
What I really want to know is who from DS9 cast asked Shimerman "What is a Klingon?" and "What is Enterprise?"'Of the original cast', is that a proviso to exclude the guy who dressed as a Klingon and acted in-character when trying to get cast for his role way back on TNG?
No, he says he got asked those questions by other series regulars during season 1.
Not that there's anything wrong with that - it's not uncommon for actors to audition and get roles on shows they know nothing about (well in this case, it's a franchise), what matters is that they get interested in it and informed about it after they get cast.

And in fairness Klingons wouldn't appear on the brief. Would they even show up on a DS9 bible? As Nana Visitor, say, it'd be important to know you're a Bajoran, the Bajorans were ruled by the Cardassians and then (to a lesser extent), Odo is a changeling, Quark is a Ferengi, Jadzia is a Trill - and wait, Klingons? What the crap are these guys again?

Had to be Armin Shimerman. He could tell people at conventions which episode was going to air that weekend and bubbled over any reference to the original Trek.
Tangentially related, there's a cool scene in Boston Legal that has Shatner, Shimmerman, and Auberjonois in a discussion with some other non-Trek actors.
