Scorpio's Cafe

Star Trek
Scorpio’s Cafe

I, Robert Scorpio, am a hopeless romantic. And some of Star trek’s best moments, I think, come straight from the hearts. So I have decided to share some ‘love songs’ with you, my TREKBBS fans.

This song I wrote when I saw Second Chances. I think it was written by René Echevarria. It is the episode where Thomas Riker is discovered and he tries to rekindle his romance with Troi. It doesn’t work out, but I loved idea of two lovers giving their relationship a second chance.

Now, in my romantic FANFIC mind, Tom Riker and Troi are in 10-Forward. Tom tells her that story how he was looking up at a star, and thought that maybe Troi, wherever she was in the universe, was looking at that same start. Wow; what tear jerker moment huh? Well, pretend that Thomas now stands up, and hands Troi a rose; and sings this song >>>>>>>> engage (this is free so don’t worry)

(Scorpio’s warning; I am not a great singer, nor a great song writer. But I love writing love songs. So, you are warned!!!)

I know it ended last time with your broken heart
And I watched you walk away
Now after a year or so, we’re both still alone
Would it be so wrong, to give it one more try

Let me hold you once more
Put your hand in mine one more time
Just because we drifted apart
Doesn’t mean we’ve reached the end
So let me love you…again

Yes I know, at times I was such a fool
I found so many ways to make you cry
But after so much time apart, now I can see
In this life, you’re all I really need

Let me hold you once more
Maybe we can rhyme, the second time
Just because we closed the door
Doesn’t mean we cant walk right back in
So let me love you…

Once again, you and I, girl, you never know
Maybe this time...we won’t…let go…

Let me hold you once more
Put your hand in mine one more time
Just because we drifted apart
Doesn’t mean we’ve reached the end
So let me love you…again

Holy shit, that was a great little song! And your voice wasn't bad at all. It reminded me of something out of Beauty and the Beast or one of Andrew Lloyd Webber's productions. Two thumbs up!

Thanks Mistral. I wish I could sing better, I mean I do try. Heck if you can sing let me know!! IF ANY OF YOU CAN SING let me know...

Wow, you CAN sing! I'm really impressed! And you're quite a decent songwriter, too! The song is very sweet and the piano accompaniment is lovely.

(I've been known to sing in the car, when home alone, and -- when sufficiently inebriated -- at karaoke bars. But no one needs to hear that ... :alienblush:)

My wife loves to Karaoke. One of her favorite songs to karaoke is that song from the movie Chicago, I think it is called I'm Not Going...GOD I HATE THAT SONG...

Sounds like me. My favs at karaoke are:

Born To Be Wild
Sultans of Swing
Mustang Sally
Lookin' Out My Back Door

I like the idea of a trapped audience. After all, who's gonna walk away from a $5 beer?

LOL..

Where we Karaoke, a local El Toritos, I am known as the Balladeer. I am not to great with the rock'n'roll songs, so my wife, and the fifty others or so, handle those...so when its time for a Ballad? Its me!!! And I love to make my own arrangements so I dont even get to sing with the words...but when I do sing to actual karaoke songs I love to sing Niel Diamond's "Hello Again" and Lionel Richie's "Hello" and I have recently introduced a great version of Sheenan Easton's "I'm Almost over You"...all of them are crowd pleasers..

My wife loves to torture me with my all time least favorite song (yes I know it is loved by many) Horse With No Name..ugghhh...But she sings it to just drive that nail in deeper...

El Toritos!!!! The bar of my college days .... (I'm a Southern CA native.) Ah, memories!

I'm funny at karaoke, no one ever knows what I'm going to pick. I've done punk rock, 80s, country, dance music, 90s grunge and slow stuff in equal proportions. And each performance has been of equally questionable quality.

Oh, I have a feeling you are better than you are letting on. I did a rousing rendition of I THINK I LOVE YOU a month ago...and now others are doing it..thats the fun part about bringing a song out of the past...

Picard and Vash..I always liked this duo. He was mister perfect, mister 'by the book' do gooder. She was from the 'wrong side of tracks'..now THAT is perfect match-makings. But, alas, it wasn't meant to be.

So I wrote song where I imagined either Picard or Vash looking back, in their older ages, at what might have been. That Robin Hood adventure said it all...their love existed; ONCE UPON A TIME >>>>>>> engage

This week's song actually features my wife! But the song was inspired by the episode where Ezri goes home and ends up dealing with issues between her and her mother. Many people don't care for this episode Prodigal Daughter; but I do. By the time this show this episode was on I was ready for Star Trek episodes that dove into the background of these characters.

And this was Ezri's chance to do just that. The song is called "ON THE ROAD BACK HOME"....Listen now >>>>>>>> engage
