More classic Dr Who figures on the way!

I got this email the other day also.

I have the Fourth and Fifth Doctors, thats all i could find last year at a big Tesco store, no Sixth.

These look good, but they seem to be getting progressively less detailed than the bery first lot that came out 5 years ago.

In other words, figures we Americans will NEVER get here. :(

The Master doesn't look brilliant either, but then the final toys usually look better than prototypes.

Typically, I often find it the other way around. :p

:techman:

Yep, same here. Remember the figure range for Serenity, those prototypes were awsome, then the final range was released and they were awful.

But as I said, it STINKS that North Americans can NOT simply go to the neighborhood store and buy the figures (Yes, I actually buy my things with actual cash).

Seems to me that Uk and Japan get all the cool stuff we can only dream of. Not only do I want Dr. Who figures, I want also the various anime figures, like Reveltech's Fraulein figures or Figmas.

But no, collectors like me are stuck having to deal with online or, worse, put up with crap Hasbro & Playmates pumps out.

Thanks a heap, Character Options.
It's not the fault of toy companies but rather North American retailers, IMO. Representatives from the big retail stores go the big toy fares all the time to see what's out there, but will only order stuff they think will sell well, or from a brand they know, or from a big movie tie-in.

The quality of a toy really has little to do with their decisions because they're probably looking at "how many units of this can we sell?"

Yea, and they REALLY know what they are doing....I'm sure all the figures (especially Playmates and Toybiz) I see CLUTTERING up clearence isles or staying on the pegs for months really shows, to me, that retail representatives are, in actually, the follwing:

Bean counters who think they have talant, but they really don't.

Shitheads, errr, North American retailers....take a good, long look at your counterparts overseas. There's alot of us...and I do mean alot who want those items, and if you think they would not sell....take a look at the stuff online stores offer....and if you still stand by your way of thinking, my potted plant here can score higher on an IQ test than any of yourselves can. Get it in gear, you got competition....and they are getting the $$$ that you are not. ~Wishes there was a middle finger smilie here~
