Domino's Pizza changed it's recipe

Man, Domino's just can't win

In 1989, Kenneth Lamar Noid, a mentally ill customer who thought the ads were a personal attack on him, held two employees of an Atlanta, Georgia Domino's restaurant hostage for over five hours. After forcing them to make him a pizza and making demands for $100,000, getaway transportation, and a copy of The Widow's Son, Noid surrendered to the police.[3] Noid was charged with kidnapping, aggravated assault, extortion, and possession of a firearm during a crime. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

So, I tried the new recipe tonight. It tasted only slightly different, but I preferred the old one. I think that Pizza Hut has now taken first place with Little Caesar's and Domino's tying for second.

Hmm, I've always hated Domino's with a fiery passion. So they changed a few ingredients in their recipe, that doesn't mean their pizza is going to taste any better than before. I think I'll stick with Pizza Hut and Papa John's.

I miss Little Caesars. When the chain shrunk, we lost all of ours. Closest one is now and hour and 15 mins away. We used to buy from our local one so often, when they shut down, the owned called us to tell us, and gave us free pizza. Heh.

That said... if Domino's had changed, good. They sucked ass before. I'll find out from a friend or such if it's any good before I give them a lick of my money again. It's criminal to call their crap pizza, IMHO.

We also tried it last night, and I disagree, but that may be based on location. Pizza Hut around here goes to the back of the line - their pizzas are always VERY greasy. I'd move the new Dominos in well above Little Caesar's* and about on par with Papa John's. Given time and money, I'd still rather have pizza from a local Italian/Greek place (run by Egyptians - go figure), but for inexpensive delivery pizza, I think they made a good move, since I think I will buy from them again, now.

*Honestly, for me, Little Caesar's pizza has gone from being good a long time ago to being something I buy when there's no time for us to cook at home and I'm buying dinner with change from the console of my car. I'd barely call it pizza, really.

The only chainpizza we have here is Pizza Hut, and I have not had that the past 5 years or so, maybe more. A few times a year kiddo and I share a thin crust italian style cappriciosa from a nearby pizzarestaurant if we are having pizza over at my brothers. They are usually way too big for one person in my opinion. But even so, I am not able to consume too much pizza without consequenses.
I prefer to make my own. I am pretty good at making pizza from scratch, and then I can modify the topping so that I can eat it without getting nausaus from the excess fat (since I can't eat too greasy stuff in large quantities) and not worry about the calorycontent.

And like Mr Laser Beam I worry about food-hygiene a lot. Left over pizza that has not been properly refridgerated to be consumed fairly soon after.. is just one of those things that are a very bad idea.

I just tried the new recipe. I think I'm going to be sick... They're trying to hide a bad taste with extra spices... Ugh... The old recipe was at least tolerable...

One of the worst pizza chains around. New recipe can't be any worse than old one. At least one would think.
any product claiming to have a "brilliant new taste" will always taste worse than the old product, ive seen many good products been destroyed over the past year, in an attempt to save money.

I ate dominoes two days ago. Tasted the same to me. Has the recipe changed all over the world or just in the USA?

Edit: Yeah, It is only the USA. I always skimread past the important parts

Chalk me up as another who really just can't stomach any chain pizza. Here in Buffalo we have corner pizzeria's everywhere... all of which offer way better quality and prices than the chains. Not to mention not one of the chains knows how to make a good chicken wing, which is the only appropriate accompaniment to a Pizza ;)

I rather enjoy Papa John's chipotle BBQ wings. I could eat those all day long.

Dominos doesn't taste any better. It just tastes bad in a slightly different way.

Tell me about it! The nearest Pizza Hut is at least 15 minutes from me in Hamburg. Since both Brunner's pizza baron and Bella's pizzaria are 3 minutes from me, and are much tastier than any chain pizza I've ever had, we visit Pizza Hut quite rarely. They have good wings too...although wings from the Anchor Bar are hard to beat.

I only know of one: Tang. Advertising a great new taste. It takes bland, has more sugar per serving now, and also more calories. Way to go, Tang. A product I've stopped buying.

I remember a couple years ago some cereal, maybe it was Fruity Pebbles, had on their packaging: "Now Better Tasting!". As opposed to what? Does that mean, "Sorry we sold you that crappy tasting shit all this time, now here's a better taste!". :p
