Poll: The Time Lords (SPOILERS!!!)

Okay, spoilers ahead for "The End of Time, Part 1", people...












We know now from the very last scene of the episode that the Time Lords have finally returned. It has been suggested that the Doctor may well end up having to destroy them all over again. I, personally, would not want this to happen. What do other people think?

This depends for me a LOT on the manner of their return, they are obviously some remnant trapped for a long time like the Daleks, and possibly just as villainous.

Maybe, but it's been building up to their return so much now, it would be a bit silly if they brought them back only to get rid of them again straight away. And I have to admit, I'm starting to get a little bit fed up with the whole "Last of the Time Lords" thing now, I think it's run its course.

Agreed, I think there should have been a "I'll have to see what happens in Part 2" option.

I think they're going to be back for good, so that Moffat can use them if he wants to. I actually quite liked the 'last of the Timelords' backstory but you can do some pretty interesting things with them, especially if they turn out to be not so nice.

Also, if they get killed off again, then how's Dalton telling us the story?

Watch the clip from next week's episode to see how Dalton's telling us the story (even though it's already paradoxical)

Personally I'd settle for an ambivalent ending, that leaves Moff the option to either have them or not.

Nah, it's vague enough, I think (the s is the problem?)

My thought is to bring them back. Although I was hoping that, if they were brought back, it was through a heroic action by the Doctor (they strike me here as being pretty villainous). Time Lords aren't always good, but they at least seemed to protect time in the past, not seek to destroy it (and laugh maniacally).

I never, ever wanted the Time Lords to return. The Doctor is just so much more interesting when he's the last of his kind.

Seriously, this is something I've often wondered: Why do so many people dislike the Time Lords so much and feel that they must remain dead?

i think he should bring them back for good anyways there are weirder things to this story line like the drumming.. i think (as a opinion) that the drumming is a call to a war, and all the time lords must join, but the odd thing is why cant the dr hear it?

Didn't Timelord robes come in a variety of colors in the classic series, depending on what Academy they were part of? I noticed all the robes in that final shot were red and gold. Which leads me to believe that these are a group of renegades who abandoned Gallifrey before it burned.

I'm all for bringing them back, but perhaps as a disorganized, less powerful race. We won't have to listen to the Doctor moaning about being the last of his kind anymore, but at the same time, they won't be constantly inturrupting his travels (Unless Moffat wants them too).
