Craig Ferguson is a genius! 1000th Episode - Puppets!

It's his 1000th show is being hosted with only puppets! This is the best thing ever!

Aquaman.... Shark....

Plus Kristan Bell is supposed to be on and that's a win because she should get her own late night show.

While Craig Ferguson hasn't changed the ostensible formula of late night TV, I think he is doing some amazing things with it. What makes the show so interesting is that it's really just him on stage for an hour. There are a few guests here & there but no band, no pre-taped segments, and it often feels like no writers. It has a spontaneous wit that seems to eminate solely from Ferguson himself. Often, it's not even what he's saying but merely how he says it. Genius!

Yeah and I love how he jokes about the fact the show doesn't have a band. Someone emailed him about that and he went something like "Do I want a band? Nah, I'm a simple guy. I want a roof that doesn't leak!!!"

I think the only reason he has writers is because some stupid union rules. They write questions for him which he just throws out. He does stupid little gag things like Prince Charles talk show and Aquaman, but they are short and are meant to be stupidly over the top.

What I think makes him really special and that no one else can do. He makes it feel like he is friends with everyone on the show even when he just met them. I have never seen someone who actually seems to care, or not so openly.

I want to check this out sometime. I've heard great things from a number of friends and in here but I haven't watched more than 2 episodes, definitely not an appropriate sample size for judging the show.

Sadly where I live it's on at some obscene late-night/early morning hour which means I only see it if I've got insomnia. What I've seen I've liked - he reminds of Letterman back in the 1982-83 era, back when he was doing stuff like the 360-degree show and throwing stuff off of tall building just to see what would happen. Now if NBC put Ferguson on prime time five nights a week I might actually watch.

Yeah, he reminds a lot of Letterman in the old days, except a little more crazy. I never thought I'd like a late night host more that Letterman, but Ferguson is hands down the best there is at this point.

Lettermen was doing that just several years ago, I miss those days. Same with his camera man when they would do emails would stick a pin in the city. They couldn't find some so they just made it up. Now he's just old, so sad.

But Craig is the man. The whole thing puppets! Genius!!

The only thing that could have made it better is if the Muppets showed up, but even the singer was a puppet!

I forgot to watch last night, I wonder what he said about it. :)

That was a tie in to the start of the show where he told about how the roof actually was leaking because of all the rain.

I love the three on going bits about the lighting being so bad, going to a commercial break and the whole we're on live or tonight's the, then covers his mouth before he says the date, or he just throws out random days.

His shows seems like a bunch of people hanging out in a bar, but without the booze.

Exactly, this was months after that and he just randomly brought it up. They also bought him new HD puppets or something and he's like... "The new HD cameras will get wet from my leaking roof!"
