In lieu of a regular old hunk thread, I'll keep with our holiday tradition (OK, twice isn't a tradition, but it's a start) of doing a Men of Christmas poll.

So...who is the guy with whom you most enjoy spending a little holiday time? Not the hottest, cutest or sexiest, but the man or boy who just MAKES your holiday season?

First off, we have our MANY versions of Scrooge and A Christmas Carol:
Alastair Sim

George C. Scott

Albert Finney

Patrick Stewart

Michael Caine

...and then we have our holiday classics:

Jimmy Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life"

You left out George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service: that movie was set around Christmas, and had a sex scene in a manger!;)

I thought about it, but his character wasn't terribly lovable in that film.

Alan himself, though, is VERY lovable.

Bill Murray, Chevy Chase and Billy Bob. Those three represent the trifecta of actually watchable xmas movies.

I voted for Chevy Chase because Christmas Vacation is the best Christmas movie bar none and I voted for Liam Neeson because the man is awesome.

Well done, auntiehill. Great idea. :) My Mr Christmas is Bing Crosby. Christmas just isn't Christmas without White Christmas (gosh, who knew that you could get Christmas so many times into a sentence!) Also, Fred Astaire. They usually put a Fred and Ginger film on over here in the UK over Christmas and I just love watching them.

Voted for Chevy Chase, Liam Neeson, Bill Nighy and Bruce Willis for participation in some of the best Christmas movies ever and for general awesomeness :D

If I had Cary Grant would I actually need anybody else? I think not! Also, The Bishop's Wife is my very, very, very favorite Christmas movie, and that's saying something since I love a lot of Christmas movies.

But just in case Cary couldn't come until a little later in the evening, I picked Patrick Stewart (although I am extremely fond of all the versions of A Christmas Carol that you mention here, particularly the Alistair Sims and Muppets versions) and Danny Kaye/Bing Crosby. I actually don't care for Bing all that much, but I adore Danny Kaye.

Darn it, I forgot to vote for Jimmy Stewart, too. But he knows I still love him.

Wonderful list, BTW. My only suggestion would be to add Holiday Inn - that way, you could have listed Fred Astaire!

^Yep. I put them in last year but this year I didn't. I guess I didn't want to double up on the Bing. But I do LOVE that movie.
