the holy TWISTER!!!

I love movies with a twist. You know what I mean. Movies like Primal Fear, The Sixth Sense, or my favorite, The Game. I like them because I never see the twist coming and I leave the theatre, as I did for Fight Club, saying to myself "what the hell happened?"....

What are some of your favorite movies with a Twist. If you are going to mention the twist make sure to hide it with one of those button thingys that you have to press to see the twist, so as not to ruin it for our BBS family and friends...

I also enjoy such movies and the sixt sense was really crazy. But in the same line, the others that pretty much as the same premise and was release at the same time I found highly predictable because of it.

I actually had a little bit of this feeling with the Star Trek movie. Given that the story revolved around
time travel and from my knowedlge of Star Trek I expected for something to reverse everything and Vulcan to re-appear
So I was surprised.

In more traddional twists, I really enjoyed Gran Torino. Again, the movie leads you in a "traditional" ending but you're completely mesmerised by the character's action and it takes you a few minutes after the movie going "wait, did he just do THAT?!?".

Write the text you want to hide and highlight it, then click on the smiley face at the far right of the icons at the top of the editing window. It will ask for the title (e.g. "Twist"). You can also directly use tags. I would type it out but I don't know how to made a tag not interpreted and show in plain text.

Okay..I will try...

I really like the following twist from the movie PLANET OF THE APES..

When Chuck Heston rides along the beach on that horse and comes upon the Statue of Liberty's head...great twister

Edit...I see it worked..thanks Islander!

 I think everybody knows that one.

Another one I couldn't think of mere moments ago is Frailty.

Yep...good one! And I think another great twist comes from USUAL SUSPECTS...

Rob

Beat me to it, Rob. Then there's Memento, Three Days of the Condor and No Way Out(one of my favorites ever when it comes to twists). Also, Lock, Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels. Would the final scene from Carrie count?

The problem I have is that I have seen SO MANY movies, read so many plays and novels, that I can usually figure out the twist fairly quickly. I figure out Sixth Sense, The Village, The Illusionist, etc., long before the big climax of the film. I had most The Prestige figured out but enjoyed it anyway. It irritates my hubby to no end, because I'll shoot my mouth off and ruin it for everyone half-way through the show.

But Usual Suspects--that one I did NOT see coming. I think it's one of my favorite films because of that.

I liked the twist in Soylent Green. I would probably have figured it out before the end but the first time I watched it I was probably 9 or 10.
