Ok. Looking for a tv show I can watch over this break in new programming that is dec and early jan.

How about some suggestions? I'll note tv shows I already have and or rented on DVD a ton before so wouldn't need be considered.

All Star Trek
All Stargate
All octor Who
Torchwood
Smallville
Supernatural
West Wing
Party of Five
Chuck
The OC
Dawson's Creek
The OC
One Tree Hill
Party of Five
Deadwood

also, I've heard a number of people say The Gilmore Girls is a good tv show and, as you can see, I don't mind dramas at all. Now, that said, it depends on tone. I can watch more female orientated dramas if they have a good hook to them (The OC with it's great humor and interesting parents, Dawson's Creek with it's friends growing up story, Party of Five with it's plain great story) or seriously beautiful women that are easy on the eyes for an hour (One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, Beverly Hills 90210, Melrose place) but I don't think the women of GG are super hot so it has to have a hook. Is the storytelling and such really good in GG?

I am in love with Lorelai Gilmore. Rory becomes a pretty beautiful young woman by the end of the series, too. The writing is clever and witty. The townspeople (read: the supporting characters) are amusing. I quite liked the show. I highly recommend it.

Not sure if you've seen them, but I'd also recommend the following, which are all very good dramas:

Battlestar Galactica
Dexter
Friday Night Lights
Lost
True Blood
Veronica Mars

1- BSG- seen it and loved it except for the finl 1 epsiodes or so qwhich ruined the series for me

2- Have seen the first two seasons and enjoyed them so I could watch the third.

3- Love the show and have watched it all.

4- Am a loyal watcher and have seen all the episodes.

5- Haven't seen it but for soem reason it doesn't interest me all that much. If enough peopel suggest I might change my mind. I think a big part is Anna Paquin kind of annoys me for soem reason.

6- Love veronica Mars and have watched it several times.

That's good to know about GG. I'll definitely consider it.
Appreciate the feedback.

Keep em coming folks! :techman:

Try Burn Notice or maybe Bones. I consider shows like that "fun drama" vs deadly serious. perfect for a little casual viewing. For deadly serious, maybe Jericho or Journeyman.

Boston Legal.

Gilmore Girls was amazing, and then the creators destroyed the once amazing show to make it like a typical soup opera bullshit. Luckily I think the later half of season 7 (after the writers wrote themselves into a corner and ditched the show) really ended the show on a nice note.

Here are some half hour comedies I'd highly recommend:
Curb Your Enthusiasm
Sports Night
Frasier
The Bob Newhart Show (only seasons 1 - 4 are out on DVD right now but this show has aged very well).

Boomtown -- Awesome cop show with a unique storytelling technique (seeing the story from different POVs) and because it was too smart to stay on the air, only an 18 episode commitment.

with several soap like dramas on your list, along with sci-fi, I think you should try out Twin Peaks. A brief run of 30 episodes, but very memorable. Kind've a murder mystery/ Soap/ Fantasy horror.

Watch the third season of Dexter if you haven't seen it.

Try the U.K. version of Life on Mars also.

:( This was the first DVD set I ever bought. Love this show.

Farscape is good, and quite cheap now.

also

House
Babylon 5

Faescape and Babylon 5 are possibilities. My great love for DS9 has always kept me away from B5 cause I never liek the comparisons after watchign, admittedly, only a few epsiodes.

I watch House regularly. :>))

CYE unfortunately doesn't interest me.

Sports Night might.

Loved Frasier.

Same with Bob Newhart.

Oh yeah.. Twin peaks is a definite possibility

I haven't.

Life On Mars would be good as I enjoyed the U version an people say it's not as good as the UK one.

Keep em coming cause I watch a TON of TV. LOL I can get through a season in no time flat and I'll watch multiple seasons/shows over the break and then there's always the summer where i can watch a TON of new shows.
