Question about the Klingon books

Thank you everyone for your replies, this gives me a ton of material to go through...I'll be reading for a while.

Seriously, though, this has been covered, but if you want to follow the primary story of Captain Klag and his adventures as CO of the I.K.S. Gorkon, here are the main stories in those adventures (written by me unless indicated otherwise):

TNG: Diplomatic Implausibility (2001)
ST: The Brave and the Bold Book 2 (2002)
GKN: A Good Day to Die (2003)
GKN: Honor Bound (2003)
GKN: Enemy Territory (2005)
KE: A Burning House (2008)
ST: A Singular Destiny (2009)

Be warned that ASD jumps ahead four years with some status quo changes.

There are also three short stories that focus on Klag:

"A Song Well Sung" by Robert Greenberger in ST: Tales of the Dominion War (2004)
"loDnI'pu' vavpu' je" in ST: Tales from the Captain's Table (2005)
"Family Matters" in MU: Shards and Shadows [Mirror Universe counterpart] (2009)

Klag and the Gorkon also have brief cameos in the following tales:

DS9: Avatar Book 2 by S.D. Perry (2001)
"The Other Side" by Robert Greenberger in ST: Gateways: What Lay Beyond (2001)

Hey everyone! I wanted to stop by and give everyone an update the Klingon books asked about so long ago. In short, I haven’t started reading them yet, and that’s because I haven’t been able to find them in the book stores. I finally broke down and gave Santa a list of the books I want and hope that Santa will get a few of them for me. The one’s I don’t get I’ll order them after the New Year. I was able to find “A Burning House” at the book store Saturday and bought it, now I just have to make sure I don't read it before the others. I also asked about what order to read the books in, and have decided to read them in this order: “Diplomatic Implausibility,” “The Brave and the Bold,” Book 2, IKS Gorkon books, “A Burning House,” “A Singular Destiny.” I’ll start with these books and go from there. Thanks again everyone for your input, and sorry I haven’t been on in a while to update everyone.

I think this is where my wife's going to wind up going. I told her when I handed her the list that most of these aren't in print anymore, at least not from what I can find anyways, and said that I'd most likely have to go to Amazone.com to find them in used form, and as long as the books aren't falling apart then that's fine with me.

yeah, bookfinder is great, too. And re condition, I've found that once I've been buying a few OOP Trek books on Amazon used, you get to know which dealers to trust more on the condition accuracy. As long as you stay away from books in "acceptable" condition, you probably won't be disappointed.

And I was once disappointed by the condition of the book and the dealer gave me a full refund in order to escape a bad rating. I didn't even have to return the book.
 
Hey everyone,

Hope everyone had a great Christmas/Holiday/Festivus, and I hope Santa brought you everything you asked for. I wanted to up date everyone on my quest for Klingon books. Santa was good to me this year and brought me most of my list, I got the IKS Gorkon books, as well as the Klingon Empire: A Burning House, bought that one on my own. I am, however, still missing The Left Hand of Destiny, and Diplomatic Implausibility, which isn't a problem; I'll look for those book online. I've got other books I need to get to first, so I'm not in a rush to go out and purchase them, but I am getting closer. Can't wait to get going, but books I've bought in the last year need to come first. Oh the wait is going to kill me

:techman: Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. On DS9, the Worf + Martok buddy adventures started feeling like routine, with nothing fresh to add to the table. But the Left Hand of Destiny books are really terrific because they get more than 40 minutes, so they can go a little deeper than "HONOR!" and snarling.
 
Hey everyone, I know I've been away for a while, but I wanted to come back and give you guys an update on my reading. I finally started Kahless by Michael Jan Friedman. I've only just begun, but I'm already loving it. I still haven't gotten around to purchasing The Left Hand of Destiny, and Diplomatic Implausibility, but I'm not worried, I've got plenty of time. I'm going to hit the used book store at the end of my street (man this comes in handy) first, and if/when that fails, internet. Thanks again for all of the suggestions regarding the Klingon books, I do appreciate it.
 
Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I've been in, work's been a pain, but I'm back, as much as I can be. Anyways, I wanted to give everyone an update on my reading up on the Klingons. I've finally started book one of I.K.S. Gorkon: A Good Day to Die, and I'm loving it. I'm about a 1/4 of the way in and I just can't put the book down. Thanks again for the recommendations.

This is how I felt as well all those years ago.
Klingons went from being stereotypes of a culture Worf had only heard about, to being real people of substance with a diversity of interests.

I mean... Who would of thought that one the best representations of what it means to be a Klingon in my mind would turn out to be an old grandmother who lives on a farm planet?

To this day, the Klingon Series is still my number one pick to be continued if I ever got a vote that mattered.

Truth be told, as long as the characters continue to pop up in-universe, I'll be glad, but some more Klingon stories would be most welcome. (More SCE too)
 
Hey everyone,

Long time no post, I know, but I wanted to check in with everyone. I've continued my quest to read about Klingon's and have finished my latest book, "The Left Hand of Destiny book 1.," All I can say about this book is, wow! I loved the book and could not put it down. Thanks again to everyone for suggesting these books to me, I do appreciate it.
 
Who knows, maybe will get Klingons as the major antagonists in the new move and that will generate enough interest to get Simon Shuster/CBS to realize that there is an audience for well written Klingon stories. We have been blessed (I know thats a strong term, short of digging out the thesaurus), with some great Klingon story tellers; KRAD, Dayton, David Mack, Kevin Ryan ect... and hopefully we will see them busy writing more glorious tales. Qa'pla
