I'm odd in the fact that I enjoy water more than any other beverage, but I didn't like the tap water when I first moved into this house. I was used to the well water from where I grew up. We got a giant Brita type thing that we keep filled up in the fridge though, and it's improved the taste immensely. You might want to at least try something similar to see if it improves the water for you.
Can you tell me more? Or provide a link to something like what you are talking about?
Is it like a pitcher or something, that filters the water?
I am very interested in this. I thought water filters had to be installed at the tap and were quite costly to purchase and maintain......
Sure! I'm not certain about actual effectiveness or what it filters out, so you'll have to research that on your own.
There's a pitcher type, which I used when I was living alone in an apartment:
Brita Pitcher
There's the faucet type that I've never used but seems like it could be handy:
Brita On-Tap Chrome Faucet Filter
And then there's the tank type thing that we use at home and keep inside our fridge because I drink insane amounts of water. It's easy for us to fill up because of the way our kitchen sink and faucet are, but I imagine it might be cumbersome for some people. I should note that this is actually PUR, not Brita. You should check out different models and brands to see what has gotten good reviews.
