Star Trek Soundtrack Gets Grammy Nod, But Loses to "Up"

Re: Michael Giacchino’s Star Trek Soundtrack Gets Grammy Nod

I just wish there was more music on the album. It's pretty dang short.

So when do they hold the Grammy's and will it be seen anywhere on TV?

Unsurprisingly, Star Trek lost out its chance for a Grammy Award to Michael Giacchino's other nomination, Up.
Best Score Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media

  • The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button (Alexandre Desplat) [Concord Records]
  • Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince (Nicholas Hooper) [New Line Records]
  • Milk (Danny Elfman) [Decca]
  • Star Trek (Michael Giacchino) [Varèse Sarabande]
  • Up (Michael Giacchino) [Walt Disney Records] -WINNER
Congratulations to Mr. Giacchino.

Of the two Up's score was definitely my favorite. All of Pixar's movies are made for the entire family.

They don't condescend to children, but allow for shades of meaning to become clear as the child grows up with their films.

They truly are timeless.

Of their films, Cars was Pixar's worst outing, IMO. Doc Hollywood in CGI form.

And Giacchino's Incredibles score should have picked some awards, IMO.

On the Star Trek soundtrack I love all the music especially Labour Of Love
