The Deep Roy appreciation thread...

Sector 7

Vice Admiral
Admiral
As long as we have gone overboard on appreciation threads, how about a thread for the appreciation of all the unsung heroes of the movie.

First, I nominate Deep Roy as Keenser.

Any and all other nominations are welcome. Which non-headliner characters or actors will you add?

Yes she is particularly goddess like... Maybe she is a descendant of Robau is mightily badass in her own way.

Deep Roy is a sci-fi god. He's appeared in Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, The X-Files, Blake's 7 and Flash Gordon. Truly the most influential man in the history of the genre.

And feel free to beat me around the face and neck, but, god help me,... i like Keenser now. He's grown on me!
Carries bludger behind back..... "Here Yeoman Randi, where are you?"
I picked him for the thread title as an attention getter, since so many had strong opinions about Keenser. First time I watched at the theaters, I thought he was annoying. Once I started watching the DVD, I realized he's not nearly Jar-Jar like as some have claimed. Keenser is actually an intelligent engineer who is fond of his friend, Scotty, and was able to graduate the Academy since he wears the engineering uniform.

Well Deep Roy deserves some credit for getting back in makeup and costume after filming had wrapped just to appear for three seconds in his character's final scene at the end.

Will we have a Maxim Roy thread next?

Let us not forget: Deep Roy played all those Oompa-Loompas in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, too!

Last time I clicked on something with "Deep Roy" in the title, I got a computer virus.

Joe, bottomless

I liked Keenser... and I'm not sure how anyone could equate him with Jar Jar Binks.

Did Keenser actually do anything that was silly or irritating? Hell, I think he only spoke one word in the film.

I was trying to forget.

I agree with you. Keenser wasn't annoying to me at all. He spoke only a few words. He is obviously very fond of Scotty. It was kind of funny when Scotty has to keep nudging him off the Transpoter pad on Delta Vega. I loved the part at the end where he appears in a Starfleet uniform. I assume he is an Ensign. a Lt. jg, or perhaps a Lt. I think he was possibly one of Scotty's students at Starfleet Academy. In Scotty's dossier on the official site it states he was an Academy Aide. :)

If I had never seen an Ewok, I wouldn't have had that sinking feeling when I saw Keenser.
