Create-your-own 2011 publishing schedual

I'd like another Klingon Empire book, preferably one that shows the conflict with the Kinshaya and Klag's promotion. I'm also good with the other ideas I'm seeing here, but no one had suggested this yet.

Oooh, yes. Good one. I can knock aside my hoped-for-but-unrealistic lost characters anthology and instead slot in a Klingon/Knshaya book, either "Klingon Empire", dealing with what you suggest here, or "Typhon Pact".

I can only respond with this:

As I post my reply, I see only the little white box with the little red X. Perhaps this was the image you were referencing?

(All in good fun, of course. On with the schedule creations and stuff! :D)

What a fantastic idea for a thread topic :techman:.

I've mulled it over, and here are my hopes:

MMPB's
01-New Frontier #18 (re-print)
02-ENT: Romulan War 1 (re-print)
03-Abramsverse #5
04-Abramsverse #6
05-Voyager-R
06-Voyager-R
07-DS9-R (post-Typhon Pact or continued)
08-TNG-R (post-Typhon Pact or continued)
09-Titan (post-Typhon Pact or continued)
10-Klingon Empire #5 (Typhon Pact. I need me some KRAD and KLAG!!!)
11-Vanguard #6
12-TOS (maybe a sequel to Ex Machina or a book detailing another "hole" in the TOS-post series timeline)

Anthologies (I couldn't just pick one :p)
Enterprise 10th anniversary anthology (with some Romulan War stories as a part of it)
DS9 (detailing some of what happened in the 4 year gap of 2378-2381)
Tales of Destiny (someone mentioned this up-thread and it sounded like a great idea)

Trade Paperbacks
New Frontier #19
ENT: Romulan War 2
Corps of Engineers

I would love to see Slings & Arrows re-printed in book form, but considering the fact that 2012 is TNG's 25th anniversary, I figured that 2011 would probably only have one TNG-R book, and that they would save S&A until 2012. I put in for 2 VOY-R books, but that second slot could easily be filled by a DS9-R or a TNG-R book and I would be just as happy.

And I know I've listed more poetential books than there are slots, but you never know if they will add another book or two depending on sales.

I can tell you that (as of this moment), the January 2011 slot is already spoken for: Paths of Disharmony, the fourth Typhon Pact book, currently occupies that position on the schedule. Subject to change for any of a number of reasons, of course :)

But won't that book come out in the last week of December 2010? It seems that treklit books mostly come out the last week of the month prior to their scheduled release month.

^ All joking aside, that's pretty cool.

His phaser isn't right, though. You only catch glimpses of the phasers on a couple of Kelvin crewmembers, but the style is very reminiscent of the original TOS Type II phasers.

I'm surprised at the disdain the Trek authors here are showing Capt. Robau. You guys are lucky he like Trek fiction, otherwise he'd crush you with his wrath. :p

Haha...That's pretty good.

For those who can't see the other comic cover image, I don't know what to tell you. It is showing up for me and apparently others.

As someone who doesn't read every Trek series or every Trek novel, my 2011 schedule would cater to my selfish needs and personal preferences! Not a big TOS fan. I read the first Vanguard novel but didn't love it enough to keep reading. Never cared about New Frontier. So these series will be noticeably absent from my list.

DS9: duology (2 books) to cover the massive gap between The Soul Key and the already-scheduled Typhon Pact novel (these books would preferably deal with the Ascendants storyline in some fashion)
VOY: follow-up to Unworthy
TTN: Sieze the Fire (Typhon Pact book 1)
Aventine: Zero Sum Game (Typhon Pact book 2)
DS9: The Rough Beasts of Empire (Typhon Pact book 3)
TNG: Path of Disharmony (Typon Pact book 4)
A non-series-specific book to deal with the greater ramifications of the Typhon Pact and the outcome of the previous four books (something akin to A Singular Destiny, perhaps)
VOY: a follow-up to the follow-up to Unworthy
TTN: follow-up to Sieze the Fire
Aventine: continuing the adventures of Ezri Dax
TNG: follow-up to Path of Disharmony

Thanks, guys =)

Damn! I thought the Kelvin Crew had the same Phaser type as Kirk. Robau will kill me

Agreed, though I have to admit, my favorite touch is the alteration of the IDW logo... :guffaw:

TTN: Sieze the Fire (Typhon Pact book 1)
Aventine: Zero Sum Game (Typhon Pact book 2)
DS9: The Rough Beasts of Empire (Typhon Pact book 3)
TNG: Path of Disharmony (Typon Pact book 4)

These books come out in 2010. This would mean you have 4 slots for 2011 freed up ;)

So, what the heck -- I'll put on my fanboy hat and play this game...

1/11: Vanguard #6, by Dayton Ward and Kevin Dilmore
2/11: Voyager: Mission Full Circle #3, by Kirsten Beyer
3/11: IKS Gorkon #5-ish, by KRAD
4/11: DS9: Olympus Descending, Part II, by David R. George III
5/11: Star Trek: Corps of Engineers: The New Adventures, by various
6/11: Vanguard #7, by David Mack
7/11: Strange New Worlds XI, by various
8/11: DS9: 2377, by S.D. Perry
9-12/11: Star Trek: Pretty Much Anything They Want To Write -- a multipart miniseries by Ilsa J. Bick, Margaret Wander Bonano, Una McCormack, and James Swallow.

(Of course, if sales of PMATWTW are strong enough, I have many more authors in mind for the 2012 line up. :techman: )

2-3 Vanguard books (at least one by David Mack and one by Ward/Dilmore)
Aventine book
2 Titan books (at least one by David Mack where the characters I don't like die)
2 Stargazers (I can dream)
TNG (post-Typhon Pact)
Romulan War books 2 & 3
Enterprise Anthology
Voyager 'relaunch' book
Enterprise-B book (by DRG III)
Sisko Tzenkethi War book (by S. D. Perry)
Excelsior book (by Martin and Mangels)
Enterprise technical manual
Voyager technical manual (which Rick Sternbach had been planning to do but the advance was too little)
