Waaaay back in 2006 Flukie posted the very first Black & White Avatar event thread in this very forum, apparently after coming up with the idea in collaboration with Iris (
) and mimic (I didn't forget to mention you guys this year!)
The original thread is nothing more than bits an' bytes on my hard disk these days, but from that I have this image of the OP:
So, as Flukie said: Soon the board will be covered in Red, Green and White for the Holidays, so let's set aside some time for our friends Zero and One."
Be a part in making the x-mas avatar invasion as festive as possible; take some time away from colours for a while to highlight the impact of the festive glitter and fairy light sprinkled x-mas avatars that soon are unavoidable.

What kind of Black & White avatar can I wear?
Any kind!
The first Black & White avatar event had a lot off us wearing family snapshots of ourselves from back in the Black & White age of photography. Later a number of posters wore desaturated versions of their trademark avatars or their x-mas avatars, others choose to wear avatars with images from their favourite Black & White movies (I'll be doing that later with a little something I once made for a contest in TV & Media) or something you've made just for the off chance you might need to wear something in Black & White some day...
Who can participate in this event?
Anyone with a black & White avatar!
When does it start and when does it end?
Now and not for another week!
