Ollie doesn't own Luthor Corp outright...he's more of a co-partner with Tess who still retains the CEO status and all the real power.

It will be interesting to see how this episode and the events of the end of it effect our timeline...I read recently that the writers have already planned a series finale (much like they have they last two seasons) in case they don't get renewed.

This season's baddies, Zod and the Kandorians, could be wrapped up so easily in just the first half of the next episode:

ZOD: Kneel before Kal-El

[Kandorians kneel]

CLARK: Welcome to Earth! [extends hand to Zod] I have been here alone for the last twenty years or so. I can't tell you how relieved I am to know I am not the last survivor of Krypton after all!

ZOD: [takes Clark's hand and shakes it] Thank you for your gracious welcome Kal-El.

CLARK: You don't have your abilities?

ZOD: No. I believe your father had something to do with that.

CLARK: Hmm. I did not have mine either when I first got here. They developed slowly over the years as I gradually became saturated with the energy of the yellow sun.

ZOD: Years? We cannot wait years. We have a plan to build a solar tower...

CLARK: Not needed.

ZOD: Not needed?

CLARK: Right. I have already gathered and combined the Stones of Knowledge. They built a Kryptonian Fortress to house that knowledge and power. There is everything that you all should need to power up within a few hours from now right there inside of it. No need to take months to build a solar tower.

ZOD: The Stones of Knowledge! You have them? You will share them with us?

CLARK: Everything we need to ensure the survival of Krypton's society right there, waiting for us.

ZOD: Wonderful news!

CLARK: I can transport you there. But without your abilities, I will have to take you there one at a time. I can run you up there, then run back and pick up the next in line until we have everyone. Is that okay with you?

ZOD: Yes it is. Thank you Kal-El. You are a true son of Krypton. But first, a question. I saw your father die in your arms recently. But he said something to you before he died. What was it?

CLARK: He said "Save Zod." He wanted me to help you.

ZOD: Very well, Kal-El. Let us go to this Fortress you have built. It has been too long since I have seen Kryptonian architecture.

[Clark picks up Zod and super-speeds to the Fortress]

CLARK: Welcome to our home away from home Zod.

ZOD: Wonderous! I cannot wait to get started! I...

JOR-EL AI: Welcome Zod.

ZOD: Jor-El? Nooooooo! Kal-El! You have betrayed us!

[The Fortress shoots out an energy beam, hitting Zod. Zod disappears]

JOR-EL AI: You have done well my son. Now go and bring the others here that I may take care of their threat as well.

[And a couple of dozen trips later, it is finished]

hilarious :)

LaxScrutiny? Thousands of Kandorians?

Blocking out the sun?

I may need to rewatch the episode.

I thought there was only about thirty of them?

At least in Zod's pod.

From the flashback, it only seemed a platoon after all, not a regiment.

Unless they were the foothold intended to pacify all resistance before the 'crystal" started pumping out thousands and thousands more Kandorians once it was safe.

Becuae there's some swelled ego involved if 30 people think that they should have to subjugate 6 billion people to feel comfortable and unthreatened, and then consider how much work that would entail that most of the 30 kandorians would be administrators and kennel masters trying to keep their herds of hmans orderly.

Not exactly a ruling class?

More than thirty. Might not be "thousands", I lost count.

Oh. And Oliver stopped them all which is why Zod and Clark had a "fair" fight 15 feet away?

Or were they all hovering and trying to decide who it is that they should be kneeling before after the final conflict resolved?

That's either bad writing, or just bad cgi because those "blots" do not look like people.

Perfect episode in my opinion.

After seeing the first episode again...Alia has powers under a yellow sun like Clark...which means she is the only on of Zod's little army to be normal...how did this happen and am I missing something???

Maybe she was an experimental prototype to overcome the effects of the Blue K?

Nope. In the episode with Julian Sands, we saw the original Alia give her blood sample there in the trenches. Just before Zod was to give his and Jor-El stopped the collection process.

On an unrelated note, Syfy is airing a Robin Hood movie right now that starrs Erica Durance as Maid Marian, and Julian Sands is the villain. They even share scenes together.

How is her accent?

Or have I been insanely blind not to have known she's been a Brit all this time?

Oh?

Canadian?

Hells.

She just got prettier.

The trailer is on youtube...her accent is passable. I didn't know the movie was airing already.

The question of how many questions has bothered me from the first episode. At first I thought there were twenty or so and they're all in Luthor mansion. How did they suddenly get recruits like the above still would suggest?

Her powers could be explained if they had been more believable about the effects of the sun on Kryptonians. Apparently in Smallville it's -purely- the color of the sun that affects them. Put up a red filter, and bam, instant depowering of Clark.

As opposed to, you know, them absorbing the energy into their bodies. Meaning that it takes a while before they start getting powers and, likely, a while before they start losing them under a different colored sun.

If that were the case, it'd be perfectly reasonable for Alia to have her powers. At least until she consumed them all without any way to replenish.

Hell, that's why Clark can function at night.

In Pandora she runs to Lois at superspeed and it is clear she has powers under a yellow sun and is effected by blue K like Clark...now Clark's powers go out during a solar flair and whatnot...Zod lost his powers as soon as the sun went yellow...so her storing energy doesn't fit. I assume when the sun is red blue K which she is carring gives her powers under a red sun and she is like Clark under a yellow...I am just going by what I see and it doesn't add up.

Oh no.

(Is that a penny dropping?)

I just figured out how there could obviously be thousands of clones but there's still only the thirty or so genetic templates.

You have too right?

Now although Zod might make a thousand new second generation clones of everyone else, what about himself, Jor-El and Kal-El? Could Zod have such an ego that he refuses to accept that he is untrustworthy and impossible to work with that 40 Zod carve the earth into 40 manageable pieces and they're not all going to go to war with each other eventually to be the supreme Zod prime?

I imagine Clark would have been executed cloned and executed and then every Zod was given a powerless Clark as a pet to humiliate in their own way.

Did they clone Tess? Or is she lover to all 40 Zod equally?

Is she the prize?

Is she the crown?

But that guy was totally knobbing the queen behind the Kings back.

I wonder if they were planning on powering her up like Jor-El did to Jonathan?

Would it have killed her too?
