X Factor (UK)

She certainly can sing but I'm not that big a fan of 'Happy'. I think it is her weakest to date, personally.
The Black Eyed Peas were absolutely dire, as usual when live. There were contestants better than they were.

As for the shock ending this week, surprised that Simon's vindictiveness against both the twins and Louis didn't overcome his desire to keep his ratings up. And annoyed that the lovely Lucie won't be gracing our screens again (although to be fair, she was one of the weaker performances this week). I kind of get voting Jedward, I do not get voting Lloyd. That boy is awful - his 'Stand By Me' absolutely massacred a classic.

 :guffaw:

heard on the radio today that people complained to OFCOM about the result on Sunday. Good thing we're not overreacting or anything

Largely, because people vote for them. They haven't even been in the bottom 2 until this week.

yes other than a cyncail move by Simon, I heard they did actually have more votes than the girl who exited the show.

I haven't watched it at all why aren't the terrible twins out

X factor has stopped becoming a singing show and is now an entertainment show. The twins are entertainment. Also Louis is a genius!!! They can't sing. Get them to talk! And dance really bad.

I do not watch the show but i saw in a paper that people had complained to ofcom.
What i do not understand is if the public voted to keep these twins in what are people complaining about?
With Top gear starting this Sunday ofcom are going to need some more staff:lol:

I think people are saying that its a 'fix' because Simon didn't choose to eliminate the twins. But that part of the show is meant to be a fix - the judges get to pick what happens to the bottom 2. All Simon's decision did was refer it back to the public vote which put Lucie bottom and Jedward 2nd to last. A result I could quite believe, to be honest. I really don't see where the problem is, unless people are saying the voting itself is fixed - but then I can't see a programme being that stupid after the phone-in row. Plus, the choices are so bizarre you just know they've got to be accurate.

Good old Sting who stated the obvious last week by saying that The X Factor is just karaoke well daaa of course it is but that is not the point of the show. It is just an entertainment show. I watch every week but I would never dream of buying a CD or downloading a song from one of these people. I watch for the bitching and fighting and tactics, It's great. I love the thing about John and Edwards mikes being turned down and that boring Daniel has thrown a strop about his sing choice.
Having said all that I wish them all well it takes guts to do what they do, almost as much guts as doing any other job.
I admire the charity record they did the same week as the BBC, just out of spite.
Will Boring Olly Murs go this week. I hope Daniel Johnson gets the boot, I have had all I can take of his smugness. Even though I fast forward through his entire performance I still can't stand him.

Everyone's mics are turned down on that bloody show. The vocal, even for the 'big' acts on the results show, is almost impossible to make out.

Agreed.

It even applies to the judges and the presenters. The main vocal is heavily drowned out by either backing vocals, or the music or the audience. It's actually mildly irritating at times, and I have good hearing. I can't imagine what it's like for anyone with even the mildest hearing difficulty.

Mind you, when it comes to Jedward, it's probably a blessing.

This week's show was fairly blah, but I quite liked Stacey's performance. In more important sartorial matters, Cheryl looked quite pretty with the bow in her hair while Louis looked silly with a pre-tied bow tie; if you're going to rock a bow tie, use a self-tie one which always looks "plumper" and more natural. Danni and Simon were par for the course, though I liked the knot Simon used for his tie.

This weeks show was indeed fairly unimpressive, with the exception of Joe at the end who I think stole the show - his performance was best by a mile. And promisingly, I can't see any likely candidates for the bottom two apart from Jedward and Lloyd - to put a twist on the old tagline; whoever loses, we win.
