But why write a book on a show that should have been canceled?

Because it's one of Syfy's most popular series?

Besides, if that's the criteria you're going to use, there shouldn't be Enterprise books. Or TOS books, for that matter.

Actually, this was Mike's second GHOST HUNTERS book.

And it's the perfect sort of book to put out in October for Halloween sales . . . .

I just think Ghost Hunters is a rather lousy series that has no redeaming value.

If you don't watch the show, why do you care one way or another if there are books about it? You know, to each their own, and all that.

I've watched a few eps while hanging out with the Mrs, but I don't follow it with any regularity. My wife loves to read or watch anything dealing with the "paranormal," so this is right up her alley. Thanks to the efforts of Margaret Clark and Jaime Costas, I was able to bring back from Comic-Con a couple of bobblehead figures based on the two guys from GH, and she flipped. This is a woman who has no use for knick-knacks or anything goofy like little figures cluttering up shelves or desk space.

So, to bring this back to MJF...the Mrs would probably be okay if he retired from writing GH books and somehow willed that job to me :D

I don't understand how a "nonfiction" show about hunting ghosts can last for so long. I mean, it's week after week of finding nothing. Doesn't that get boring? Do they at least get to unmask the guy who's pretending to be a ghost, who then says, "And I would've gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for you meddling adults?"

We'd have to arm-wrestle for it. Or maybe we could have a nice little EVP session and let the ghosts decide . . . .

    "You hear that? I'm pretty sure that's 'Cox' backwards . . . ."

I'd say it's because he made a blatant Scooby Doo reference.

^Good God, I don't know how to respond to that. I'm just going to continue chuckling and go back to my beer.

Having personally returned from the dead twice, I'd sneak off to the editor while you two were busy with that.

Well, if I'd actually heard of the show, knew what it was about, or had any idea how to turn it into a novel. Which, unfortunately, I hadn't (until now), don't (except for what's been said in this thread) and haven't...

Just to bring this thread back to its original topic, MJF was seen last night at the SFWA annual holiday reception. Rumors of his demise appear to be mistaken.
