R2D2 Cameo finally found? (with pic)

That pic when the Enterprise arrives at Vulcan is a fake. Sorry.:) I freeze-framed the widescreen shot on the DVD and saw nothing of the sort in the ship debris over the planet.

Cripes.

Ok, that's just an absurd, stupid, and too obvious a "cameo."

What? You were absolutely certain and I was in the mood for some balloon poppin' wholesome fun. :D

J.

No, no, don't mis-read me. You corrected me, that's fine I'll admit I was wrong -as the OP screen cap just looked too damn obvious. Now I'm rolling my eyes at the "cameo" itself.

To be fair, though, it goes by at lightning speed. I mean, blink and you miss it.

I missed that the first time I saw it at the theater.:rommie: Another awesome ITL production!

I was looking at a screencap today of when the Enterprise is sitting there while we see Narada being torn apart by the unintended last singularity, and there seemed to be SOMETHING right next to one of the nacelle struts, at or partly obscuring a small portion of its backedge...I blew up the image as much as I could, but...what the heck was that?....

It's not fake. Saw it on my DVD, which is not blue-ray.

The moment doesn't happen when they first arrive. It happens after the tiles get scraped away. Kirk's silhouette has to be in the shot, and for a quick glimpse Artoo is there, and he fades fast as hell as he flies toward screen left

OHHHHHHHHHHHH. See, nobody said THAT to me. I was freezing on the shot when the Enterprise first drops out of warp over Vulcan. Thanks for clearing it up.:)

The Spaghetti Monster is grateful as well. Right now he's praying in church.

Well, not to sound mean or anything, but when I read Trekker's response I went "tee hee hee" to myself and was motivated to quickly get the screencap. I had actually discovered it for myself not too long ago when reading a post over at WF about the same thing.

I started the frame by frame the moment they arrived at Vulcan and my wrist was killing me by the time I saw R2 but it was worth it! You just have to be patient.

I'm not sure I would call it too obvious.... I get the impression that most of us, including myself, have only seen R2 in the pictures. I've even been looking for the little bugger and haven't seen it, though when you see the freeze-framed picture, it does appear really bloody obvious.
