As someone with no preconceptions about Tyler Perry, and barely aware of him, he's just another actor playing a role that won't exist beyond this movie.
So: Whatever. He was okay in the role, which was really just a Cameo.
I'm completely indifferent.

Having never heard of him before the movie, I couldn't care.
The character was minor and meaningless and therefore I don't care.
Cna we plese discuss things of more merit, like the Kelvin's registry?

I got a kick out of it. Although I don't watch his show or anything and all Ive really seen of him is commercials of his silly movies. I was just glad to see he wasn't a crazy woman. All in all i liked him in it.

Meh, Tyler Perry played it like I would expect. Cameo, a little stiff, in & out.

Having never seen his movies or shows i had no problem with it. He was just another actor doing his job.
However, after seeing the picture Broccoli posted i now feel the need to gouge out my own eyes with a fork.

I was aware of his movies and shows although I have never seen any. But I still instantly recognized him when he first appeared at Kirk's hearing. I also agree that there are matters of more serious concern, like the Kelvin's registry as The Wormhole so nicely pointed out. Just what is Starfleet's cap on sig figs anyway? 
I was waiting on Christian Slater to pop through a door "Excuse me, Captain Sulu..."
Tyler (I'll just fire the writers, who needs them anyway, I'll write this crap myself) Perry? His inclusion in the movie just made me sick. I have to just bite my tongue during his scene.
Luckily, the combined pretty of Pine and Quinto is enough to distract me.
