NFL Football 2009

Honestly, I'm surprised that an offensive guy like Josh McDaniels takes over, and the defense ends up being pretty good while the offense ends up kind of mediocre.

I think that the offense is designed to play to Orton's strength, the really short passes. Unfortunately, they've crippled themselves because it's all they do. They abandon the run way to early, and they don't try anything longer than a few yards. While the occassional shot down the field wouldn't be a bad thing, if they were to just extend the passing plays a few more yards, it might put them in some better positions. Right now, they're just too damn predictable.

Dear Chicago Bears,

Thanks for being kind enough to have your asses curb-stomped on Thursday this week, since I can now actually enjoy a Sunday of football without being subjected to you inept douchenozzles taking Najeh Davenport-sized dumps all over the field.

Well looks like Delhomme decided not to throw interceptions today. Interesting Special Teams bowl in the Pittsburgh v. Cincinnati game.

Good. Fucking. God.

Did Denver just lose to the 'skins? Really? Someone please tell me that I drink was drugged and that I hallucinated the whole thing. The defense wasn't bad, but they never showed up like they normally do. At least the offense is producing. They had a healthy balance of short passes, long passes, and runs.

And then he happened. Orton went down with ankle injuries, and Chris Simms played the entire second half. Simms, the guy who I admittedly wanted to start the entire preseason, looked like he was a QB for the Browns or Raiders. 3/13 for 13 yards and a pick (should have been two). What the fuck? The offense finally starts going, and we plug in a guy who suddenly looks like he is playing the wrong spot.

Yes, there was plenty that went wrong, but I'm ok with holding Simms personally responsible for this disaster. Fuck you, Chris Simms. Inept bastard.

No, Denver doesn't suck.
:techman:

No, Denver does suck.

I expected them to suck all season long and they fooled around with the fans and led them to believe that things would be different, running off 6 straight wins before returning to form.

This team isn't that good, they made a lot of people drink the kool aid and now the truth is out.

At least I don't have to change my season prediction for another week. 6-10.

Well even though we lost, that was the Rams' best game of the year. Our defense played reasonably well, and the offense actually moved the ball today.

That kickoff return ended up being the difference. Damn!

:scream:

PS: Steven Jackson is a monster.

See, you've got the solace of your team having played well against one of the best in the league.

Me, I've got the fact that the Redskins beat the Broncos and Chris Simms is now the quarterback depending on how long Orton is out.

Sure, if you want a guy to play through losing a spleen, Simms is your guy....

Well, I root for Miami, and today we barely escaped against Tampa Bay. I think Miami's chances of even getting a wild card are even slimmer. In the AFC I see the following as most likely to happen:

Pittsburgh
Cincinnati
Indianapolis
New England
San Diego or Denver
and most likely some other team.

I should be happy that the Redskins finally won a game, but since they beat the Broncos, I'm not. :(

KM, Broncos fan first. :p

This just in from the lower ranks of the NFL....

TENNESSEE TITANS WIN AGAIN! BEAT THE BILLS 17-42 FOR THEIR THIRD STRAIGHT VICTORY!!

Titans: 3-6

I now release you to discuss tonights hyped Sunday night game of Colts vs Patriots or more Denver/Niner debacle from earlier.

the titans want to thank the bears and broncos who both supplied players who are making a difference.
:)

i wonder if lovie smith is beating his head ever time hood makes another interception.

Wow- the Packers actually managed to beat Dallas! And it was Tony Romo getting planted into the grass instead of Aaron Rodgers. Will wonders never cease?

Ugh, I can't believe the Patriots went for it on fourth down with the lead and just over two minutes to go. Punt the damn ball!
