I can't believe the day is finally here, after all this waiting. Since I'm not in the UK, I'll watch it later. I might open my last bag of Cadbury buttons from my holiday in Scotland for the occassion.

That was awesome. :D

Gotta say the most terrifying aspect arguably was the Doctor himself at the end.

Gotta say, I was expecting something...more; it just seemed a rehash of a few previous episodes - I think I need to ponder on this episode for a while.

That. Was. Incredible. The Doctor finally grasps his true power and is shocking. Wow.

YOU ONLY GET THREE KNOCKS!!!

I found it a bit... odd!

Disjointed, unconnected, out of sink, loose, lacking continuity - that wasn't right on several levels!

Well, that was interesting!

The plot - such as it was - I felt was pretty uninspired, being yet another "Impossible Planet" siege story. And what was the enemy? Umm...Nasty Alien Water Type Stuff! But that's missing the point, I suppose. This story wasn't about that. It was, obviously, about The Doctor himself.

So - he crossed a line and thought he was the all-powerful arbiter of fecking history itself now that the Time Lords are gone, and ended up with a suicide on his conscience. He knows he's abusing his power and is starting to unravel - juicy stuff indeed!

So for me it was a mixed bag - a predictable and pointless runaround with some great Doctor moments to pull it round. And I can't wait for the next one.

And it was better that Planet of the dead, so that's a good thing....:D

It was a little iffy in the first 20 minutes or so, but the last 20 minutes were fantastic. The Doctor is going a bit off the deep end now isn't he?

Yes, the water WAS out of the sink on several occasions... :D

And there was a token Ood appearance too, to cap it all off. ;)

The plot about the water things reminded me of 28 Days Later for some reason...

Yes. :bolian:

Not bad at all - the much-vaunted "Doctor will do/say something shocking" wasn't as shocking as it could be, though it's a great line and open to interpretation as to whether it means he's gone to the Dark Side or just realised he should have been doing the job instead of having fun

The water stuff, though was disappointing - I mean the lack of villain-identification as to what it actually was. Some sort of parasite? An Ice Warrior bioweapon? Something that caused the Ice Warriors to leave Mars to die? Who knows...?

Still, good fun, thrilling, good cast, lovely effects, music mostly working, Tennant on good form... yep all great.

8/10

End Of Time looks good, and I dunno about you, but I didn't recognise the "distinguished actor of hollywood films"

Really liked it and the ending in paticular was amazing especially the whole same story differen details thing :techman:. It felt like they could of added another 15-20 minutes to flesh out the mars story more but really good and that trailer...

END OF TIME is going to be amazing.

Very good stuff.

It's a brilliant twist. For the whole thing, you think that the Doctor just has no choice but to leave them - Fires of Pompeii once again, but with a more disturbing adversary.

And then, he comes back in the airlock. Raging against the dying of the light - and stepping way over the line in the process. It is the Doctor, manic, enjoying himself, but it's far darker than we've ever seen him - Time itself must bow to his will, because he gives it no other choice.

I think the ending was a little too dark - at least, the fate of Captain Duncan. And the sudden change between the Doctor, broken and lost, and the Doctor, once again refusing to allow it, was a bit too immediate.

The trailer for Christmas looks good, though.

A hell of a lot better than the last one.

I was hoping for something dark and I got what I was expecting from it. I loved the moment of the Doctor walking away, his little chat with the captain and his power trip at the end.

When the captain pulled out her gun I was half expecting her to shoot the Doctor to kick off a trippy two-part regeneration show, but thankfully it looks like the Master is returning in a proper appearance. Brilliant.

Not perfect - as the Skutter said it was best in third part, but with the renfrences to the old, building on the series 4 finale... I liked it. My GF - a hater of Who - while she wasn't paying attention, she showed some interest and was looking forward to seeing Simm back as the Master.

Good effort and I'm looking forward to Christmas.

Wow! That was brilliant! The plot as a whole was a little weak, but it wasn't about that, it was more about The Doctor. What a great twist though! Nobody was thankful, or even recognised The Doctor as their saviour. And his turn at the end, almost made him an antagonist of the episode. I'm wondering that, because he directly changed a fixed point in time, it aid's the apparent return of the Time Lords/The Master in the next couple of episodes?

By the way, do we know what was under the ice? Or was it just the Ice Warriors?

This is exactly how I feel. I haven't voted because none of the voting categories really fit what I feel about the episode.

Nice. One.

Seriouisly, better than the last one.

As said, a bit shakey and slow at the first few minutes. Not really consistent and weak plot devices. But, well its about the eventual demise of Ten, so stroy really doesnt matter, just the outcome at the moment.

What a ride.

Especially the last five minutes, the realisation and the vision. And his character seems to turn, s if its not Ten anymore, its a wonderful scene to see the decline of a character like Ten. i wont go into detail as some may not have seen it, but the end is a true delight to watch, just for Tennant acting, it was superb.

The part where he just listens to them dying in the airlock is creepy to say the least. He knows he has to leave them, but somehow regrets he has to. And the realisation he has gone too far by abusing his abilities with time travel was awsome. Especially where, as it was an established event, all he could do was delay or change the circumstance, but at the end of the day, what happens will happen regardless.

Still not great, still a little disapointing here and there, but a great Ep none the least. Even for the last five minutes.

Tennant, you are a star, mate.:techman:

Hope america treats you well.

For a moment I thought The Doctor was going to take the survivors to a different time period to live out their lives so that history would still record them as dying on Mars, but that wouldn't have fitted in with the reason he turned back to rescue them in the first place, would it? The whole point was to show him screwing it all up.
