Superman Returns The Director's Cut?

I really enjoyed Superman Returns. I would definitely buy the directors cut of the movie.

I loved Superman Returns. However, calling it the "Bryan Singer Cut" is very misleading as the final released product was the "Bryan Singer Cut".

Also, from my perspective, none of the additional material suggested in the trailer would really add anything of substance to the film's narrative. Clark finding Krypton, Clark meeting Ben Hubbard, Luther walking to the FoS, etc. This would just slow down the pace of the film that some believe was already slow-paced to begin with.

I'd like to see a good cut of Superman Returns--with all the cheesy elements and emo-bitchiness removed--but it would probably only clock in at about half-an-hour's length.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Sometimes the final cut of a movie is dictated by the studios who wants the film to come in under a certain length of time. So there are times directors do end up throwing somethings out to keep it within a certain length.

But having said that some of the added scenes may not add anything to the story and it may slow it down.

But I'd still love to see it because I am a huge Superman fan and Returns was my favorite Superman movie in some aspects.

True, but Singer, as far as I know, has made no claims of this being the case. Also, considering the running time was over 2 1/2 hours, somehow I doubt the studio was worried about time.

I want to most see the Kryptonian scenes as well from the beginning of the film. I thought that wasn't filmed? That was why I was shocked to see some of that stuff in this trailer. Granted it's a fan made trailer but what they propose to have restored and included in the director's cut is awesome IMO.

Your generous. I'd like to never hear about the movie again (or Firefly or Tarantino's proposed Bond film or if Enterprise can be resurrected).

(And upon re-viewing it wasn't that bad, but still...not that good overall.)

I had been hoping this would be released with the next sequel by now. I'd love to see it and those extra scenes on Krypton.

Saw the link the other day on a DVD forum I frequent. I was fairly impressed by the trailer, and I signed the petition. Singer's flick proudly sits on my shelf next to the four disc set of the first movie, the two disc of the second movie, the Donner cut of 2 and the 2 disc LE of Supergirl. I'd gladly put this new cut there too.

Broccoli has nailed it on the head. The theatrical version is pretty much the version Bryan Singer wanted us all to see. He made all of the editorial changes in removing the "Return to Krypton" sequence and the additional stuff on the Kent Farm. This is not like the "Richard Donner Cut" which was drastically different than the Lester version of Superman II. The added scenes would just further slow down the pace of the film. Singer had them purposely removed to improve pacing. I'm not sure what alterations these added scenes would make.

However, with that said, I would still love to see the original opening as per the screenplay and as originally intended before Singer had a last minute change of mind. I think the Krypton scenes would add a granduer and scope to the film heretofore unseen, but remember they add very little to the overall grand scheme of things. Kal-El visits the ruins of Krypton in his spaceship, sees kryptonite, becomes ill, and sets a course back "home" before fainting. That's it. It was two pages in the script and about five or so minutes onscreen. Nothing too major.

Will Superman go ahead and rape Lois and kidnap her son in this one, rather than just stalk them hovering outside their windows?

Or is he saving that bit of escalation for a sequel?

You haven't watched 'Lois and Clark' very often, have you?
