Vanguard: Precipice extract in Star Trek Magazine 22

Has ANYONE in the UK, specifically London, got their magazine yet?

I'm still waiting for mine, and early November is fast becoming mid-November.

They're not technically due until next week, so I would hope subs copies are on their way this weekend.

Paul
Did you not say early November, Paul?

You've got the previous issue which has the official date on it. I'm not going to bother posting a UK date in future.

Do I bother you that much moaning for such a great magazine?

Anyway, the point in moot. I'm moving to the US in 9 days, so I'll get it when everybody else does :D

No! Don't leave! We can hold out, we can wait long days without it while the Americans are already smugly reading it and turning glossy pages at their leisure. Stiff upper lip, man!

^I'm moving to be with my fiancée, not to get the magazine faster (though that is a nice bonus). I hope the magazine comes this week, so I can read it before I go.

I'm *delighted* you love the magazine - and I do take it as a compliment that you want to read it as early as possible. But it does feel like I go through the same thing every issue. Life's too short. ;)

You do go through the same thing every issue, and I apologise for that, but there should be no reason why it takes six weeks to travel from the US to the UK when a shipping flight takes 7-10 days. Titan would probably make more money if they synchronised all their magazines so they could send everything out at once.

But as I said upthread, I'm moving to the US so it's a moot point now. I just want this issue before I go.

I've got mine...

Shame the article title for General Chang - Hero Of The Klingon Empire - didn't make it, but the pics are great!

^None of us got to keep our suggested titles on this one, since it didn't fit the format. But I got lucky, since the title for my Shinzon article was "The Echo and the Voice," and the quote on the second page of the feature is the line I got that from, "I'm afraid you won't survive to witness the victory of the echo over the voice." Which is just as good as getting to use the title.

Whereas, I can understand Paul not using ours: "I'm Nero, and Robau Was A Punk, No Matter What Fanboys Say."

You said it. All that buildup, all the memes, and in the actual film, Robau goes down without even putting up a fight. Kind of a letdown, really.

Amazingly, my headline remained mostly intact: "Dukat" (Paul et al added "Skrain").

The lesson here, my friends, is know your audience.

Nope. It's "know your editor."

I did seriously consider using Dayton and Kevin's idea but they do seem to have taken out the expletives that they put in... Dan had great fun laying out the headline with six different colors for the different swear words. Can't think why it didn't get past quality control.
