gross, how is this progress

It's progress because these people don't have to live in fear or shame because someone else thinks it's gross.

J.

Maybe they just shouldn't live that way to begin with, problem solved.

Gender identification problems don't make sense, you are born male or you are born female, that is what you are and were meant to be, be yourself, not something you aren't.

It doesn't make sense to you because you don't have to deal with it. Perhaps you should be more accommodating of your fellow human beings instead of writing them off because you don't seem to understand what they may be going through.

A little compassion goes a long way.

I can see you've really done your research.

Come post that in TNZ. :)

While I myself don't understand why a man would want to dress as a woman, I still remember this is America, where people are supposed to be free to do what makes them happy. Remember that whole deal about "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" in the Declaration of Independence? Yeah, you might think something someone does is "weird" and that in my book is fine...you're entitled to your opinion. You are not, however, entitled to decide how another person lives their life. And if how someone lives includes a certain choice in clothing, in the grand scheme of things, does it really affect you in any way?

That's the thing, dude...they ARE being themselves.

Ever heard of live and let live? What difference does it make to your life what another person decides to wear? I see guys all over town wearing skinny jeans and v-neck sweaters, and they look ridiculous...but you don't see me raging about it later, or demanding they wear something that doesn't show off the outline of every vein in their legs. :p

People shouldn't be allowed to live the way they please when they are harming no one?

Gender identification problems don't make sense, you are born male or you are born female, that is what you are and were meant to be, be yourself, not something you aren't.
This is one of the most ignorant statements I've read on the BBS.

Firstly, the line between the sexes is not as definitive as people like to think. What about people who do not fit into the XX XY genetic categories, instead having genetic make ups like X, XXY, XYY, etc (Turner's Syndrome, Kleinfelter's Syndrome, etc.)? What about people who are genetically male (XY) but have Androgen Insensitivity, and so develop the physical characteristics of a female? What about people who have so-called "ambiguous" genetalia? Or partial hermaphroditism?

We determine gender by assessing 1. DNA, 2. Physical appearance, 3. Gender Identity. These three don't always match up in a single individual.

Also, did you know that most transvestites are heterosexual men with no gender identity issues whatsoever?

Do some research.

Gender Dysphoria is a big, real, problem and issue for many millions of people. It's not something you "decide" to do.

It is who you are and isn't something to be ashamed of, though many are.

There's nothing wrong or "gross" about a mag like this, nor anything wrong with those in GD community.

I wonder if when this is mailed to subscribers if it'll be shipped in a plain sealed manila envelope?

I don't see why it should. It's just a fashion magazine.

A fashion magazine most likely to be bought by those in T-Girl community, composed of people who likely wish to remain anonymous to family, friends, neighbors, whatever.

Hell, I was delivered a freaking computer magazine in a manila envelope. Figure that one out.

Okay, I see your point. That last one though. Wow.
"Don't worry sir, no one will even know you're a nerd."

My roommate at the time and I had fun with it. I'd come in with the mail and he'd say, "Oh, [Trekker] what's in the manila envelope?" Then I'd get shift with my eyes and say, "Nothing..."

Yeah, I didn't get it either, but it was a plain manila envelope with no return address on it and just a simple white mailing label.

World's not in black and white. It's more like that box of crayons with, like, 150 different colors. :bolian:
It's akin to being born in a wrong body and so on. Also, various cultures are more understanding of this, and even consider it a 'third sex'. Plus the black and white mentality does not work, especially when one is intersexed....stupid doctors go to 'fix' the problem, so the kid won't be 'confused' or 'different'....YET a majority of these 'fixed' people are miserable and angery that someone chose for them instead of letting them choose what they want to be. I don't see why some societies are so strung up on various gender roles/personas.

Back to the main part of the bit you said that annoyed me, I see nothing 'gross' about it. Some of the lovliest girls I've known were transgender.

I'd hardly call any of this fine ladies 'gross'

Yes....the girls in both these pictures were born as males. I have my sights set on a couple of such lovely ladies, and hope it works out good with one of them. :bolian:

^I disagree entirely! I was exposed to crossdressers at a young age, and I turned out just fine, thank you.
And I had zero exposure to cross dressers and started wearing girl stuff when I was fourteen. I'm just fine too.
That is debatable. :p

Maybe you should mind your own business, problem solved.

Everybody please remember not to get too personal or insulting. Or I'll have to give you a dressing down.
