I think he gave the speech exactly as Wilson wrote it, until Wilson himself walked in, at which point House went off-script in order to tell Wilson (implicitly) that he should forgive himself for what he did.

See, I wondered about that. If he did that does little to help Wilson "falling on his own sword." If it would've been Wilson's speech -just read by House- then the AMA still could've came down on Wilson, that's why I figure House may have started off using Wilson's words but then "punched up the language" to make it more plausible for it to be falsehood -clearing Wilson of any possible "wrong doing."

I find it very contrived that two of House's colleagues have each deliberately caused the death of one of their patients within a month or so of each other. I guess they were going for some kind of thematic parallel, but the coincidence factor was hard to swallow.

Well, a lot of things this show does is contrived and just down-right outrageous. I've gotten to the point where I mostly shrug it off as something that has to happen for the sake of story and drama. I mean, in several episodes House is able to get a transplant for a patient almost instantly -something that's very, very rare in real life.

I guess something we hust have to shrug off and say "they have to let it happen to tell a story." It pushes this balance sometimes -like when House uses a combination of L-DOPA and "some other drug" to arouse a PVS patient and the guy wakes up and walks out the door, drives a car, and carries on perfectly normal converation with House despite being lying in a bed for the bulk of the last few years. It's silly and about as far-fetched as the show has gotten on the medical front but was all done for the sake of drama.

I noticed a small blooper in that scene. When House mutes the sound on the MacBook, he presses the wrong key. You can't clearly see what it is, but it's definitely in the vicinity of the spacebar; Mac keyboards have the mute button at the top. :p

So do PC laptops. Maybe his is just a weird one.

Yeah, I noticed that too. I know nothing about MacBooks, but I can safely assume that the space-bar isn't the "mute button" for many programs, or even equal to click the mouse button if he happened to have the cursor hovering over the mouse button on the program's tray.

I was just gonna' say you can pause You Tube playback with the space bar.

As for my musical taste, I admit that Fuel is the best song Metallica has done in their entire catalog from the Black album to today.

BUT THAT'S NOT SAYING MUCH, SINCE IT ALL SUCKS!

Anyway, I can totally see House being into metal. I cannot see House liking Metallica past the Black album. I most definitely cannot see House thinking "Fuel" is the best metal song of all time.

It might not seem like a big deal to some, but I always enjoyed the character's immense taste in music. This episode blew that for me.

Metallica. Seriously...the video was FULL SCREEN! How much did they pay for that? Fuel. Blech.

One might almost suspect that different people have different likes and dislikes. I know it's crazy that the entire universe doesn't agree with your grandiose superiority complex, but that might just be the case here.

Really!?! And here I thought I was just stating my opinion and not a universal, scientifically proven fact.

Oh wait...that is what I did.

 Must be a Metallica fan.

As did I. But hark! It's different than yours, so it must be inferior.

Yes. Saying people (especially a fictional character) may have a different opinion than you makes me a Metallica fan. Here, let me try ending my post with a similar asinine and idiotic accusation about you.

 Must be a pedophile.

Well, fictional characters should be written consistantly, and I see House more into older Metallica than the newer stuff but I grant that my familiartiy of it isn't great.

House just strikes me as being a bit more "old school."

Why are you so angry? :(

Except the video keeps playing. :)

So it was a different goof than was initially thought. :p

Not as bad as when House was video-conferencing on his MacBook a couple years ago, and the screen kept going off in different shots. Dear continuity errors; we can tell the machine is off from the back, because the Apple logo is lit by the screen's backlight. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the in-use light for the camera wasn't on, either, but I'm more willing to forgive that.
