Tell me about it, I had no idea Fringe was on that night until I saw a passing blurb on a website or something. Maybe it was here. I do my TV listings for the week in advance and they didn't have it listed back then!

I'm told Fox promoted (at least) Fringe during Game 6 in later innings.

IMO they should've waited another week. Several acquaintances who watch Fringe didn't see the episode, not realizing it was on.

I guess no one was paying attention becuase they told people they were airing the two shows (If no Baseball) all throughout Football Sunday. You won't know unless you actually watch the network other days. Geese, this backlash towards Fox can get so extreme sometimes. They cancelled Firefly. Get over it.

A small part of me is hoping TVD will have better ratings than Jay.

No, I have to agree with Jax. They should've waited a week. And I have no anger towards FOX because I wasn't a Firefly fan; it was just a bad decision.

Lovely little article about FOX's stupidity...

Angry that your DVR didn't record "Fringe" this week? You're not alone.
Many viewers didn't even know Fox was airing a new episode of "Fringe" until they read about the episode the next day in various news outlets, and some are slapping their foreheads wondering how else the network can damage the viewer base of the show.
I don't attack FOX or any other network for canning my shows in the long term ;) (in the short they deserve my wrath ). I don't tolerate fools and sadly TV exec's are a group of fools who couldn't find there arses even if it was labelled for them. To prove I don't hate FOX which would be stupid to say since out of my shows that I watch the most come from FOX...I thought FOX were right to air Lie to Me with house thinking they would be a good partnership but unlike FOX am willing to admit my mistakes and would switch Fringe & Lie To me with the baseball gap being the perfect time to advertise such a switch in advance but they have lost that oppurtunity.

Wait, he didn't say that. He said Fox didn't tell anyone, which is very much not true. I agree Fox should have waited a week (Especially last week with the World Series and not knowing if there was a seventh game) but the argument wasn't about that. It was about Fox not letting people know, at least that's what I read.

As for commenting on stuff I care about, I wish Parks and Recreation was doing better. They're having such a great season that I do hope it doesn't get cancelled. If it does, at least it got a full season, and I did enjoy it and then move on. As for 30 Rock, nice to see strong numbers. According to last year's finale, they have this season and then next season and that will be it. I wonder what a series finale for the show would be. Probably finding out from NBC that TGS was canceled in place of a bad nighttime talk show that no one likes. ;)

You can't blame Fox. They ran ads all week that said Fringe was going to be airing. Sorry if people can't properly read or access the internet.

Rumors have it that NBC will not cancel Parks and Recreation because its a cheap show.

Exactly, and this is the point I'm trying to make. What can the networks do the better promote their shows when they do so much already. There has to be some work on the viewing public to do something too, or else sure the show is going to get canceled or have bad ratings. People are just too lazy these days to get up and actually do research on their own. I'm not sure if Fringe is a show new people can get on board with now, but if you're a fan of the show, than it's your responsibility (And probably something you'd want to do no less) to find out when it's going to be on.

^ unless you were watching Baseball then you would of missed out of most of the so called advertising and my guess is most people heard Fringe would be back the week AFTER baseball not the night after the 6th of a 7 game series. Bones had a dip too though smaller so FOX should do better work with there advertising. Not too mention aren't ad's not all national ? doesn't some go through local affilaites so not everyone may of gotten Bones/Fringe ads or do what a lot of people do when ads come on...

Switch over or leave the TV until there done. Am sure a lot of people used there weekly TV guide, which probably said nothing about Fringe and Bones.

Well for me, I go on Zap2It every Sunday/Monday and write out the week's tv shows in my planner. At that point, Fringe was not listed. I don't watch commercials when I watch TV, we play a DVD on the commercials or else it's just wasted time. And I don't follow baseball at ALL so I wasn't even aware when the World Series ended. I think the only reason I found out it was on was because someone started a review thread here which caused me pause.

I never use the season pass feature for my DVR. Too often scheduling conflicts will arise and I'll miss a show because of it. I always make sure to program either same day or a day or two beforehand. I knew Fringe was going to be on if the WS ended after game 6 so was prepared.

When the last episode of Fringe aired a couple of weeks ago they said that the date it would return was later in November, so I was not expecting it so soon. Luckily I caught it because I manually check all of my series recordings before I leave for work in the morning, but I can easily see how lots of fans would miss it.

I am just going to take a guess here but I doubt that most of Fringe's fan base is into football or baseball, so ads during those times are kind of useless for reaching them. I didn't even know the World Series was going on so how would I know when it supposedly ends? Also, who actually sits there watching ads anymore? I sure don't, even when I am watching a show live. I think that most people check various online and offline TV guides or their cable guide to find out when a show will be on, and Fringe didn't show up on a lot of these. I was genuinely surprised to see it on as a new episode on Thursday.

Go Survivor! It's been doing really well this season, I'm happy for that. The past few seasons weren't as popular but for some reason this one is doing great. I think it's all because of Russell H. really (or Russhole as people are calling him ). He provides a reason to tune in each week.

Fringe seems to be a dead show walking with those ratings. Dumb move to move it to Thursdays.

What is it with FOX and cancelling Sci Fi shows after two seasons these day? First TSCC, Dollhouse and most likely Fringe now.
