Trek fans' love for bit player Captain Robau is somewhat reminiscent of Star Wars fans' love for a certain bounty hunter with a jet pack. For that reason my nickname for Captain Robau is... Robau Fett.

That is all. :)

Theoretically, the idea is not bad at all. My only problem with the name (since forever) is that in German, it means "fat". George Lucas has a way of screwing up names. For instance, that bodyguard out of Episode One, "Panaca", has a name that means "dork" in Portuguese.

The Robau-Boba Fett parallel has already been discussed at length in another thread...

Captain Robau's friends used to give him cute nicknames.

The friends nobody ever talks about anymore; Sad memories. :(

The best possible nickname one can give Captain Robau is "Captain Robau". Why waste time with anything else?

Picard and Robau are both French names. Google Robau, and other people with his name come up; didn't see the etymology of the Robau name.

But from wiki:

"Picardy (French: Picardie) is a historical province of France, in the north of France. The historical capital and largest city is Amiens.

During the Middle Ages, 'Picardy' referred to that part of France north of Paris, and it even included the Dutch speaking Flanders. Thus, the name applied to an area much larger than what we now think of as Picardy. This area corresponds to all the territories from Paris to the Netherlands. In the Latin Quarter of Paris, people identified a "Picardy Nation" (Nation Picarde) of students, most of whom actually came from Flanders, who studied in the prestigious Sorbonne University...

A minority of people still speak the Picard language, one of the languages of France, which is also spoken in Artois (Nord-Pas de Calais région). "P'tit quinquin", a Picard song, is a symbol of the local culture (and of that of Artois)."

Does this mean Robau's father got decapitated by a bald black dude with a purple laser sword? Sounds sorta badass and appropriate if you think about it.:shifty:

ROBAU:"What about Captain Nero?

He's no good to me DEAD."

ADMIRAL KOMACK:"Starfleet will compensate you if he dies."

Since Robau Fett is of zero interest to me, I have not paid attention to most threads which appear to be related to the character.

If Robau WERE like Boba Fett, we'd have at least 45 different action figures of him by now. But we have yet to see even one.:(

But I wanna make my Kelvin bridge diorama!!!

WHAAAAAAAAAH!!! Ricky!!!!
