My lame Star Trek Art Work.

Hello all I am new here and love anything Star Trek .

Especially TOS and TNG :vulcan:.

I would love to post my stuff here BUT Before I do. I would like to know what no-no's are out there. The TOS are kinda vague.

First some of my stuff is screen caps. Altered and fixed to the hilt screen caps ,because as you know TOS, was well not such great on the quality due to the time frame. Great acting and stories just not the technology, compared to what we have now a days.

Second. I also have motivational posters I have made from the screen caps.

Third I have oil paintings and Art Manipulations either from screen caps or other such things.

If these things are ok please let me know and I'll share my lame art work with you all. I claim none of it and only do it for the passion of Star Trek :D

Also if you want me to make something or work on something.. I have no problem doing that as long as you realize I Only have GIMP and a oil paint program. So some things I may not be able to do or they may take time :D

Well the penultimate "decider" is going to be PTrope, and if anything I say disagrees with his position, just ignore me and listen to him. ;

That said... the "BBS rules" are certainly clear enough, and the FAQs answer most questions. Read the "stickied" threads at the top of the forum, by all means.

As general guidelines:

NEVER use anyone else's work without providing full and proper credit.

Avoid using anyone else's work without their permission, unless you've made a good-faith effort to contact them and have been unable to do so. In any case, #1 still applies.

Nearly everything we do here is, to one extent or another, based upon intellectual property owned by PPC and their parent company. They own that intellectual property, which means that we cannot claim, by virtue of our work to "fully own" the concept. At the same time, any substantive work of your own is your own, so the whole "ownership" thing gets pretty iffy. Suffice it to say, if you come up with something new, even as a "spin" on an existing (PPC-owned) concept, that's not theirs. But the foundation will always be theirs... so "nobody wins" in that case.

Remember that whatever you do here, you're putting out into the public realm. And anything which you make public will, if it's of decent quality, will inevitably be stolen by someone, someday. You have some legal rights, quite a bit more in the way of moral rights, but not enough to truly preclude being "ripped off" unless someone uses your work to turn a profit.

We're here in a "good faith environment" and are sharing our work because we love what we're doing. Treat everyone with respect (PPC and fellow fan-artist alike) and things will be fine, I'm sure. Treat anyone (PPC or some fellow artist) disrespectfully and expect to face the full fury of a bazillion geeks out for your head. ;)

Welcome to the neighborhood Kitt98!! I don't think there's a problem with what you've described, but I'd pop into the FAQs and have a look around.

I say slap 'em up and let us have a look! :techman:

LOL I did read the FAQ where it did state about Screen Caps but I wanted to doubly make sure.

Been there done that on Deviant Art. My work was used as stock. *eye roll* I gave up. People are going to steal and I'll probably never know most of it.. As for stealing it my self?.. I can't I am the type of person who gets a upset stomach when she lies. Then when she gets mad at another, feels like crap later.
Slap me please?

Honestly all I want to do is make you smile laugh, invoke some sort of response and share my Art Work passion.. Mainly Star Trek..

I know lame but true and thank you both of you for you kind and intelligent reply :)
