X Factor (UK)

I actually thought Whitney wasn't all that good. Particularly not good enough for the arrogance at the end. Cheryl's performance was about as dire as expected, I did love her catty remark at the end about how her act was booted but the Twins are still there. Thing is, she has an act just as bad as them, he just didn't go last night.
Also, Danii should be banned from picking Rachel's songs from now on. When she has them picked for her, they're stupid choices (that Beyoncé number), when she picks her own, she's great (both times she's 'sung for survival'). Give her a decent song, and people might vote for her.

Poor Whitney had a wardrobe malfunction, but the performance was good. Did anybody else think she looked exhausted afterwards? So much so that she could barely speak.

I quite enjoyed most of the performances this week; the eye candy highlight being Lucie Jones... nice legs on that girl! ;)

(I just wish Danni would give her songs that fit her range rather than trying to force her to hit notes she just can't reach as she'd tried to do these past two weeks)

I lol'ed, for sure.

Agreed; I don't know if she's doing concerts at the moment, but I'd bet against it based on her fitness level. Obviously, that putting that amount of energy into a performance must be exhausting, but she did look out of practice - and puff - by the end.

I really enjoyed the performance to be honest with you. On a side note I think I'm addicted to her new single along with Cheryl's too.

Whitney looked like Pete Doherty on a bad day (without the talent of course).

I loved that comment from Walsh the first week stating that somebody or other was brave to do a Coldplay song LOL like they where some sort of great band.

To think I turned my back on this show. Thanks to my girlfriend I am hooked on it. I never watch it live though so I can spin through most of the dire performances and enjoy the banter of the judges. I watch it in the way Cowell does looking at the acts purely from a business point of view, it is a science choosing what act will get little girls and those under educated about music out to the shops. Keep up the good work!

Coldplay songs, particularly some of their more famous ones, are difficult songs to sing, that's what Louis meant. It doesn't matter whether you think they're a great band, or even if you like the songs; certain songs are harder to sing than others. That's all he meant by it.

I know what he meant. That sounded nothing like Chris Martin's version.

Last week was even better. Again with fast forward button in hand I watched mostly the comments of the judges.
I thought it very apt that that show off ended up in the bottom two and that the bookies no longer have him favourite.

...And it's fun and games over at the 'X Factor House' which happens to be right next door to where the Chinese ambassador lives who has complained to the government about it after 'ponographic' graffiti was scrolled over intercom.

^ No, another bullshit result which got rid of a decent act at the expense of a shit one.

I can't say I'm shedding any tears over the non-descript Rachel's departure, but any week that sees the ongoing survival of the twins counts as a bad week.

OMG.. I just finally watched their performance.. Louie is a freaking genius I'll give him that much. To pull that shit off and still have them be in the show... Holy shit!! Somebody get that man to solve global warming.

And Cheryl.. WTF were you wearing?? Going through the performances now on youtube. So far this season has been brutal. Not even a decent standout. Has the UK ran out of talent?

Edit: I saw JLS's new single.. Get me my vomit bag.

I'm having to listen to Sweet Child Of Mine a lot to wipe from my memory the abomination that was Lucie's version. Still, I forgive her on the grounds that a) she's now gone two weeks without talking about her welsh village and b) because she's remarkably hot.

Apparently the previous week they actually got one of the highest votes of all the acts.

Simon made a couple of cheeky comments about it: "don't lean forward too much" and the like... :D

Point b is well made, and well worth repeating.

I dont' know she doesn't do much for me but yes sweet child was brutal.

I'm really liking Olly Murs. I think he might pull through and win it.

^ He really seems to get better every week; originally I thought he was a bit of a wet blanket, but he's beginning to overtake Jamie Afro in my books. Jamie doesn't really change week to week, but Olly has got consistently better. His Big Band performance was Best in Show imho.

I really disliked the way Simon copped out of making a decision today. Had his chance to be executioner and failed miserably. So no more of lovely Lucie's legs, but more of the terrible twosome instead.

^

Their ghostbusters performance was hailorous. I couldn't stop laughing. I still can't believe they are in it. And they might even make it to the finals. Now that is down right scary.

Danyl's Purple Rain was good but nowhere near Ruth's from last year. I still listen to just to be reminded how awesome it was. And Simon didn't boot off the twins... WoW, talk about just keeping them for the ratings.. Or to give Louis something to do.

Probably a bit of both. Plus to stir up a bit of controversy.

Lame. I can understand it. But still lame.

Meh, that's show business for you. I think Simon has written off making money off this year's contestants. I don't think any of them have star qualities.

BTW, Leona's new single is freaking amazing. Man can she ever sing.
