your SUPERMAN!

Superman Returns gets, I think, a pretty bad rap. It wasn't great, but it I liked it..(could have done with out the suit he wore)...

If you were Warners, and it was up to you to chose your idea director, and star who would it be?

No "name" director, or "name" writer, or famous actor. Instead, aim for an entire cast/crew of fresh faces. Someone who feels passionately about Superman and understands the history, but doesnt' write it to appeal to fanboys and teenagers. A director who wants to have it true to the story's feel. Someone who looks like and emboies what Superman should be.

Oh, and no John Ottman.

That all depends on what you mean by "name". Superman: The Movie had a "name" director and a "name" writer and it turned out great. Superman Returns didn't have "name" writers and I wouldn't necessarily call Singer a "name" director, but that movie tended to be disliked by many.

Very true..SUPERMAN had two name actors (Brando and Hackman..even Glen Ford) to lure in the public. I dont think Donner was a name actor at the time, but definately Mario Puzo was big....

It doesn't matter who is wearing the suit or playing these other characters if the script sucks and the director doesn't understand who Superman is and why the character has endured for so long.

Yeah, but compare those "name" actors to today's "name" actors and ... fresh faces, please.

I think it could be done..

Jorel...Brando...Connery/Anthony Hopkins could do

Luthor...Hackman, I actually liked Spacey, and even the kid
from Smallville..so Luthor, to me, is castable with anyone made bald...My pick? A bald Alec Baldwin

Jonathan Kent....Glen Ford...Harrsion Ford

Martha Kent...Don't remember actress in Superman 1....Glen Glose

SUPERMAN/Clark...Reeve...an unknown who LOOKS like Neal Adam's Superman

Lois...Margo "where is she now" Kidder....Megan Fox or some other contemporary

Director? Peter Jackson...Cameron...either SCOTT brother

other than the director, I LIKE THIS cast!! Great job Aragorn!
Rob

If you look at his overall body of work Joel Schumacher is not a bad director. True, his Bat-films were not good movies (although, I liked Batman Forever), but don't discount everything he has done.

Star - Brandon Routh

Director - Stephen Spielberg, James Cameron, Peter Jackson. Though I'd like to see someone less famous who really loves the material given a chance the way Jon Favreau was with Iron Man. Maybe Neil Marshall?

Writer - Andrew Kevin Walker or Chris McQuarrie, with input from John Byrne and Tom Mankiewicz
