Actually, I guess we're getting more of it.

Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend -Sunday at 2 AM- which means we're going back to Standard Time, so you need to set your clocks back one-hour before you go to bed Saturday night.

Got anything planned for your extra hour? Are you staying up later to "enjoy" it? Or are you going to use it for another, glorious, hour of sleep?

And how much will it now suck with it being stark-dark at freaking 6 o'clock in the evening now?

It is fun if you go to a bar and they close at 2am...get an extra hour of hanging out and drinking more.

One tv station would show VOY for the extra hour, now they air TNG at night around that time.

I am not doing anything sadly. :(

DST is, in my questionably humble opinion, useless. It should have been abolished across the board, long ago. Time is time, after all. We can't change that just by fudging around with the clocks. We should just shut the fuck up and accept whatever daylight levels we happen to have.

Hey, on a busy night like Halloween, that extra hour could definitely add a significant amount to their income for the night. It's an extra hour of guaranteed tips!

DST is about saving money, not time, these days. It allows daylight hours to be more centered on the work day and actually helps save energy to a point.

Originally, when the U.S. was a predominantly agrarian society, it allowed farmers to make better use of daylight hours.

Ummm maybe if I was 8 I'd be excited about it since I could stay up later, but at this point it just doesn't matter since I can stay up to whevener I want...YAY!!!!!!!!!

However, the one thing I really don't like is that it's going to be darker even earlier now. That sucks.

And we're not an agrarian society anymore...work hours are all over the place. So how much money does DST really save? Not as much as people think, probably.

Quit your whining. :p When I was a kid living in Alaska, in the winter it was still mostly dark when I went to school in the morning (approximately 8 AM), and by the time I got home in the afternoon (approximately 3 PM) it was already getting dark again.

We switched the other week here in the UK. I forgot all about it and got up at my usual time. What a berk.

Serves you right for being upside down and in the future!

Winter time, with its truncated days, makes me depressed as it is. Imposing standard time and taking away yet another hour of sunlight during my waking hours is like insult to injury!

It could have been worse. You could have turned the clock back just after midnight rolled by, gone to sleep, and woken up and looked at your watch to find it was Monday.

In the interest of not appearing like an idiot, I'm going to pretend I understood that.
