Have you seen this super muscular kid?

There are several genes which, when mutated in certain ways, cause muscle growth like this. The first one discovered was myostatin. Rats without functional myostatin grew bulging muscles without exercise. I wouldn't be surprised if this kid has such a mutation. Normally kids can't grow muscle bulk like that before puberty. In order for this kid to look like that and be that strong, he would have to be either taking steroids or have a mutation in one of the genes governing muscle growth.

That's just creepy. :wtf:

What will happen to him when he hits puberty...?

This 5 year old has huge muscles and is doing flips and shit like Darth Maul. Will he be the next generations action hero movie star or will all that muscle building stunt his growth in some way?

This isn't new...there have been toddlers in the past doing this shit too and I remember controversy because it's not good all this working out etc...for the kids bones or muscles...development...something.

I'm pretty sure this kid could whoop my ass.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Now, I am the guy who - when living in a dorm - was only able to actually beat 2 of the 30-50 guys living with me in a wrestling match - but it just ain't right for a six-year-old to be that threatening. :p

I'll class this in with women that take enhancements so that they can have 10 children at one time, or any number of things that do happen, but which we all would more or less agree probably shouldn't.

I could kick the shit out of that kid. Admittedly, I would fight in a way that involved as little strength against strength as possible, but I could still kick the shit out of him. :)

But even then, you'd be some dude who just beat the shit out of a five-year-old. Kobayashi Maru.

That level of muscularity highly unusual. However, there's no reason a child can't start strength training (as opposed power training) at 7-8 years old. There are no recorded medical injuries due to early weight training in children. The idea that this will hurt kids is really a myth. Usually when they lift that early, the target should be for them to support a sport, and for functional training. Weight training is the most useful at puberty when they will start producing testosterone. I wouldn't recommend kids lift at below 13-14 yrs old for power or competition.

No it won't stunt growth, that's just hilarious. This whole issue reminds me of how in the 50s-70s Western athletes were told weightlifting was bad for them until Eastern trainers and athletes started proving that it was essential for performance gains. The rest is history.

Um, if he keeps lifting he will be in very good shape indeed, because his natural test will kick in.

RAMA may be the only TrekBBS member who could take him.

In fact, I think that kid could kick the ass of 95% of our members, including all the MODs and Administrators, and T'Bonz.

Indeed. Reminds me of the good old days with my nephew. Couldn't let him keep bugging me, couldn't kill him...
