The New AVATAR Trailer!

I've seen it, and I would post a link, but since it's not officially out, I believe that is against board rules.

However, that can't stop discussion ;).

So what does everyone think? I liked the first one, so Im not the one that needs convincing, but I do like the fact that this one puts the images seen in the first one into some sort of context. The quality of the one I saw is really low, so I cannot comment on if the wonky CG in some of the shots has been fixed or not.

I can't wait till December.

Looks pretty decent. It's more of a traditional trailer, rather than the tech-demo-y feel of that last trailer. Good action.

The story though, seems very one-note and generic, evil corporation/military trying to seize valuable land, guy goes native, joins the natives, fights back evil corp-military types. Sci-fi dances with wolves.

Hopefully there's more to the story than what's in the trailer.

AICN has a semi-blurry version of it. The most impressive part of it is listing James Cameron's credits.

Looks pretty sweet. Look forward to the decent quality version.

I do think though that though this film may be remembered in film history for its CGI/3D ness, and it looks set to be a fun movie, it probably won't be so good that it's remembered as a classic (in the way Terminator/Aliens are for example) Just the vibe I get

No rush from any other website to see the trailer it seems. Have sci-fi fans ever been this uninterested in a new sci-fi movie from a Master such as Jim Cameron? The first boring ass trailer really did a good job in squashing whatever interest there was.

Well it's also since the trailer has been pulled from the internet.

Im sure this film will do just fine.

Saw the new trailer in front of Amelia. I understand the plot now. I do have a question, are all the people in the movie (the normal people) CGI or not? Sigourney Weaver looked perfectly normal to me, as did everybody else.

I can't believe some people thought the actors in the original trailer were CGI as well

No that I thought they were all CG, but there was one shot of the main actor walking down a ramp with some sort of air mask on his face and he actually does look CG there.

That's just because they post-processed the shit out of him, and composited a reflection over his faceplate.
