TMP articles in Future life magazine.

Recently My wife and I were browsing around an antique shop in our town. I always look through the magazines just to see what they have. To my surprise I found a few magazines called Future Life. They were all from about 1978 to about 1982. Three of them had articles about TMP. Two were before the release of the movie. and one was from just after. They were $3.50 ea. so I grabbed them. It was a bit nostalgic reading through them. Its funny how they say in the article that its top secret. Sound familiar? However reading through it there's tons of spoilers. Anyway I wanted to share them all with you so I scanned them. I copied all of the scanned to a pdf file for adobie reader but I cant string up the files together for each Magazine to go into one adobe reader file. If someone could help with that that would be sweet. But I put the jpegs on photobucket.
Here's some links.

Very informative! According to the third article, Leonard Nimoy turned down the role in Phase II because he was slated to appear in only 6 out of 26 episodes and that Shatner was expected to be part time too.

The anecdote I found most interesting was one that revealed more agony that Persis Khambatta went through. While I was fully aware of her trauma at having her hair shaved, I didn't know that she apparently suffered (some permanent?) cornea damage, from the intense lighting used for the joining between V'Ger and Decker in the film's climax (because she tried to keep her eyes open for the good of the scene). Sometimes, it's hard not to see her time on ST:TMP as a microcosm of her life -- a life spent struggling for a recogition she never quite attained.

Anyway, I wish to thank flightmech73 for treating us to these scans. I have humbly added them to my growing collection of digital TMP paraphernalia. It's pleasing to see that TMP threads do pop up with some regularity here. Of course, I have just created one of my own, but the response, thus far, has been dismal; still, hope springs eternal. I suspect it is the Star Trek film that rings out amidst the cartoony din of the ten (and counting) sequels, and is one that people go back to and even discover anew. I'm not shy in asserting it to be, in one form or another, a bedrock of artistic excellency, so any threads that come forth with behind-the-scenes information are welcomed by me.

As for the OP's question: I'm not sure how you make PDF files, let alone combine them, since I have never needed nor attempted to do so. I suspect a few minutes of time spent with Google may yield a suitable answer, however. Try this batch of results, for instance: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&sour...ta=&aq=2&oq=combining+pdf&fp=c662ce1e81ac315b :)

Thanx. I just downloaded a trial version. Going to try it later. When I read about the cornea damage all I could think of was JJ's light flairs.:guffaw:

I strung the pages into one pdf file. Makes it 100% easier to read rather than the small jpegs from photobucket. I wish i could put the files in the thread to click on. But if people are intrested in reading them maybe you could PM me with your email and I can sent them to ya.

That's my wife Tara. I photo shopped Tpol's ears on. The eyebrows were done with the clone tool to sweep them up. That took the longest. But I like the results. Couldn't find a good uniform to put on her because the way shes leaning forward but I figure no one would mind a little skin. and then I put her on the nu bridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T'Pol

Really. Maybe Im just doing it wrong. I downloaded the program and when I tried to upload it just kept failing and retrying.
