Young and Telford--Who has more authority?

I like the plot that is starting to form between the two and its clear that Telford has a serious problem with him not being there and Young getting his job. Its also clear that Telford is a complete jackass and I can see him fucking up big time soon, I just hope O Neill or Landry slaps the guy down.

Well so far from what we've seen. Telford has been right and Young has been fucking up. He complelty ignored Rush about the power situation while Telford recognized Rush's genius and wondered why he was ignored.

^ I think the problem is that Telford isn't there to be making the decisions at a second's notice. He sees how things are after they have happened. It is easy to say "Oh, you did that all wrong!" when you are not the one having to make the decision.

He didn't second guess when it came to the bit about Rush. Telford knew he was the man to listen to and Young is to busy on trying to get some of that medics ass. Oh and don't forget the IOA lady.

Worth mentioning, Light pretty much confirmed there apparentally is bad blood between Young and Telford. When discussing an incident when Greer punched Telford, Young comments: the bastard had it coming. So that could go a long way in explaining Telford's attitude.

It is also evidence of Col Young being in command. Since the pilot I've been saying how could Master Sergeant Greer be in the brig and not on the General Hammond getting ready to go back to earth for court martial? As anything which resulted in confinement in the offworld situation should warrent. The only way was if Col Young had the authority and Col Telford knew his career would also go bye bye should it be learned that he got into a fight.

Wouldn't the fact Everett Young is injured and doped up on painkillers compromise his position of authority?

when they do the stone communication, Telford also becomes injured and doped up, so that shouldn't have any effect on who's in charge on Destiny

Greer would have been transported to the Hammond when they were ready to leave (which they were not when the planet was attacked). Young also had authority over Telford as he was the base commander. Telford was only the SG team commander.

I doubt Col Young is on many painlkillers if any at all. I doubt a large supply of heavypainklillers was one of the priority things they grabbed when Icarus base blew up.
