grated cheese.It costs nearly half as much again, just buy cheese and grate it you lazy sod.
Not always true, actually, not around here anyway. So it becomes the opposite, if you wanted grated cheese, why buy blocks of cheese when it you can get it pre-grated?

I suspect there may be tablets/filters out there than can do this. But, really, fluoride is harmless.
Bake them. I guarantee you that the freshly grated cheese will melt far better than the pre-grated stuff. It also tastes much, much better.

Ah, but what about freshly grated Velveeta? It's cheap, melts easily, and doesn't require refrigeration prior!

I buy grated cheese because I don't own a cheese grater, and I'm lazy. Also, if I grated the cheese myself, that would mean I'd have to CLEAN the cheese grater, and as a general rule I hate doing dishes.
Also, I've found that it usually costs about the same as a block of cheese.
Plus, you can get those flavored grated cheeses, like Pizza and Taco!![]()
