Expensive tickets

98 € a ticket for Paul McCartney in 2003. That's about as high as I would go, but at the time I thought it might be his last tour. Also, those were seats in the best category. It was totally worth it. But I'm glad that he charged less in 2004. :)

I didn't pay, but the most expensive ticket that I've ever used was about $1,500 off of eBay for Game 3 of the 2007 World Series in Denver. Horrible seats too!

I enjoy remembering smoked salmon and poached eggs for breakfast after a night in a four poster bed in Brighton... each to their own I think :)

So would that qualify as salmon chanted evening then? :guffaw: ;)

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:
That joke's gonna kipper me giggling all evening:lol:
Go fish pun thread...

I'm glad I could kelp out. But are you sure you can hake any more of it? Haven't we all haddock enough? I admit, though, it's better than sitting around downloading prawn off the 'net...

For instance, I suspect few on the board spend what I do on clothes

I suspect few small countries spend what you spend on clothes. ;)

but for me it's not excessive because I get to enjoy them for the many years that they last. Whereas a holiday would be over in a couple of weeks.

What's definitely important is enjoying it, though! And that just varies for different people.

As my late father in law used to say, "Never ask a man the price of his mistress."

But you were in the stadium.

I was able to go to the first playoff game in Coors Field in 95. Last row of the bleachers, but with the airfare they probably ran about $300 each.

If I go to see Patrick Stewart next January, it would be the most expensive, at $150. Still thinking about it, and can I afford it.

^ He is coming to Sydney and Melbourne for a convention in each city.

As tempting as it is to go and see a hero, you would still just be a fan. And as great as it is to see him 'in real life' ~ Mr Stewart signed my Waiting for Godot programme for me, but it was a hurried and almost dismissive and I did feel a little disappointed.

If you really want to then do it ~ it's nearly Christmas, maybe friends or family could chip in?

You never want to think ~ if only I'd...

Wow, after reading all these posts, I'm thinking I got a good deal for the $210 I spent on three seats + parking to last summers Final Fantasy:Distant Worlds concert here in Seattle. Really the most I've ever paid for tickets.

A hero?? I'm sorry which burning building did he run into? Or better yet, how much arms fire has he taken on the battlefield?

Is 'an actor that portrays a fictional hero' or 'an actor that you really admire' more to your liking?

Yes. Major pet peeve when an actor or athelete is called a hero. They're hardly that.

Nah. The small countries tend to have expensive dictators.

As my late father in law used to say, "Never ask a man the price of his mistress."

I want to know if you've ever used this one to his daughter when she's noticed your credit card bill... ;)

I'm going to remember it. If I ever get to use it in the right context, it will be glorious.

Yep! The seats were basically worse than the Rockpile. The weather was freezing. The Rockies got slammed, but it was still soo amazing!! One of the very best experiences of my life.
